I'm making one more release of Mame which will hopefully fix any lingering issues with rom directories.

Let me know if there are any issues, although it is unlikely there will be further fixes.

The latest version is 0.5, and the link is on the first post.

If they haven't fixed in this release (I'm unable to test it at the moment), I believe there are still some scaling issues in some games, like Double Dragon and Rygar.

hi, I tried the version 0.5 on ldk, after starting , press any button it returns to home. any solution? and when i try to reinstall versione 0.4, say me error "can't back from 0.5 to 0,4"....... thanks in advance

Hi @neo82! Are you using retrofw and IPKs? It sounds like it. You can unzip an ipk with 7zip, so if you wanted to go back to 4 you could just copy over the Mame4all folder in emu.

Immediate crashes are normally because it cant find the graphics files for the menu and the startup screen - check the two bitmap images are there. Unfortunately I don't have an ldk so I cant test the issue.

If anyone else has an issue with installing/running 0.5, let me know, and I can put out an ipk of 0.4 you can install over 0.5, if that makes sense.

trying to upgrade from .4 did not work. removing .4 and reinstalling .5 worked fine. hope this helps anyone having issues.

How do I exit games? I can bring up the MAME menu but don't see an option to exit, nor do any key combinations seem to work.

l & R buttons on top usually exit you out.

I tried L&R but no luck.

I should probably also clarify that the device is a RS07.

I think its L&R then Start or select. Then when your into the main menu its L&R to exit the program.

I?m getting great video performance in the old arcade games that I mainly play but some games are exhibiting popping audio (for example Donkey Kong and Joust). I remember this was an issue back in the first days of the custom firmware but was fixed in the Useless port. Anyone have ideas on what regressed?

Hi @kapster This port is based on bob fossil/dinosaw_act's excellent work (https://github.com/thefossilrecord/mame4all-rs97/commits/master) - I've had a look through his initial patches and I can't see anything relating to sound code.

I'm pretty certain that I subsequently haven't touched that area of the code, so I can't see why it would have changed?

It likely is a regression of some kind I've introduced - let's see what happens with other versions of mame over the next few months and if nothing appears, maybe I'll pick it up again.

The IPU implementation in Tony's kernel is not flexible enough to work for the Arcade Mini.
I had plans to profile his MAME4ALL port though to improve the speed (as well as statically link it) but i prefer to let him fix the remaining issues before doing that. Then i will provide MAME4ALL as part for my CFW.

Also, his kernel does not support TV Out and a lot of people are using it for the Arcade Mini.

@gameblabla Great to see you could potentially be working on mame4all. Ive finally got a working romset but performance has been really disappointing on simple games i thought would be ok. my 2 favourite games Double Dragon and Ninja Spirit stutter all over the place. I thought it would run a lot better. I used to play these games fine on a really old JXD 7100b

How do you add the sound samples and artwork for the MAME games that need them?

Edit: I've found the issue. The roms folder has to be in the mame4all folder with the artwork and samples folder or it doesn't work.

Hi bopbopbop, is it possible to save/load state in this version? I seem to see references in the code but cannot find a way to access this function. Thank you in advance for this amazing port with very good performance!!! (I'm using a LDK)

Wiggle the DPad left and right a few times, game will start.
To exit game hold Left + Right Shoulder buttons plus Start Button, to exit Mame4All (while in game list selection screen) hold Left + Right Shoulder buttons
