« on: July 18, 2018, 11:19:47 pm »
New GMenuNX release is out:
https://github.com/pingflood/gmenunx/releases/tag/2018-09-16

ATTENTION:

If you use gameblabla's Useless CFW, download the release built with musl.
If you use Steward-fu's 97Next CFW, download the release built with uclibc.

## Highlights

**2018.09.16** (*Codename: No more tears (AKA: My work is done here).*)
* Renamed fork to GMenuNX;
* New gridded menu layout:
   * Allow to customize number of rows and columns in settings;
   * If column number is set to 1, will use list layout;
* Do not hardlink icon and manual when adding a new link;
* Properly detect TV out on boot;
* Improved font rendering engine;
* Default CPU clock to 600MHz and max CPU to 624 MHz;
* (Try to) Fix SD card mounting mess introduced in Useless CFW;
* Add some workarounds trying make USB mount work better;
   * Force reboot on UDC unmount (sorry, but needed to prevent more corruption due to crappy filesystem management in CFWs);
* Updated Simplified Chinese translation; Thanks to Luckyhgq;
* Prevent Suspend mode while using BatteryLogger;
* Fix Selector browsing directory up when selector browser is off;
* Assert '..' directory is the first in list;

How to add previews/screenshots/boxart (the simple way):

1. Edit link and set a path to "Selector Directory"

2. Drop an image file (jpg or png) with the exact same name as the rom file with no extension, in the same directory as rom file.

It will automatically show the preview when you select the rom file.

Complete way, with more details and scrapper utilities, check the excellent manual by @m1024:

How to add rom name aliases:

1. Edit link
2. Select a path for Selector Directory
3. In Selector Aliases, select a .txt file containing the original file name (no extension) and the name to be shown in file selector.
E.g.:
nam1975=NAM-1975
bstars=Baseball Stars Professional
tpgolf=Top Player's Golf
...

Attached follows aliases with commom names for FBA, Mame and NeoGeo game files.

Hi,can someone please tell me the max resolution of the selector screenshots

The size can change due to skin settings. Anyway, pick a 128x128px and it's ok.

i canot open the alias file ".zip.txt " ???

Dingoonity no not allow to upload .zip files. Just rename the .zip.txt to .zip and you will be able to extract it.

Pingflood, very sorry for the late reply. It works great. fixed all my usb mounting issues as well. Now both my internal and external nand are readable from the usb cable. Greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi. I'd just like to ask about the plausibility of porting this (or the 'vanilla' GMenu2X) to the Pap K3 Plus, as its stock GUI is crap. Thanks

Hi, is there any way to get this working on the new RetroFW? I just get a black screen when ever I try to install it. I would really like to get it working so I can get the boxarts for my games.

RetroFW uses GMenuNX by default.

If you want to update, just download the latest gmenu.ipk in repository:

Sorry, I don't own a K3P Plus, so I can't do the work by myself.

Anyway, gmenu2x source code is available for anyone who's willing to try. ;)
