Genesis Gopher 2 handheld console
« on: January 01, 2018, 11:04:38 pm »
I have bought the russian handheld console Genesis Gopher 2. It's better than the first version because of the new screen size: 4.3" LCD and this handheld console can emulate :
- Sega Genesis games,
- Sega Master System,
- NES games,
- SNES,
- GBA classic,
- CPS1 games,
- some CPS2 games (7)
- some Neo-Geo games (82).

There is an article here : http://z-news.link/sega-genesis-gopher-2-a-new-console-for-old-games/

"Gopher" as in the old Firecore Genesis, as seen in the US as the AtGames Sega Genesis portable, right?

Is it any good?

Yes but with the Gopher 2 it's not the same system look at the photos.
It seems using the RZX-50's firmware

Hopefully the games are in 60hz and not in 50hz.

All the advertisements say it has a 4:3 aspect ratio screen but it is clearly a widescreen. I've seen video of it playing games, they're all horribly stretched.

Anyone know if it can at least display games in the proper aspect ratio.

Where can you buy this system?

Crazy price considering it's very similar specs as pk3p, but I like the design so I bought one anyway. Probably won't have it for over a month though coming from Russia. Too bad the menus and settings are in Russian, but should still be fun to mess around with.

If anyone does receive the Gopher 2 from the one eBay source, please let me know which color you received, blue or orange. I didn't see any way of choosing. Thanks
