Backing up stock firmware of a jz4750 gba clone?
« on: June 05, 2020, 05:28:08 pm »
Hello, I have a gba sp shell clone that when I press A or B while turning it on gives me Ingenic jz4750. Figured it would be wise to backup stock firmware to look at it (it only plays mp3's and gba games), and to make sure that nothing goes wrong when I mess around with the firmware that is on it. No it does not have an SD card slot anywhere, in case you are asking why not flash to an sd card.

Does this have a Micro SD card in with the Stock FW on it or is it a physical chip with the OS ?

If its an SD Card then use "Win32 Imager" using the steps below, or the really easy way it use another SD card

1) Create a file on the on PC called "STOCK Firmware.txt"
2) Rename the file "STOCK Firmware.img"
3) lnsert Micro SD in to your PC via a card reader
4) Open the Win32Imager
5) Click "Browse"  and navigate to the file your created "STOCK Firmware.img"
6) Click READ (WARNING Do NOT click write or you will wipe the SD card)

Hope this helps

I would have done this a long time ago if this was the case, but still thank you for your advice.
