Hi! I had the same problem and I solved it changuing video options inside the emulator. You must chose the option FS something...sorry I haven?t got the machine at this moment for clarifying. But try to test all emulator?s video options.

Thanks for updating the firmware, jutley! Can't wait to try it out!

Out of curiosity, were you able to integrate the DOSBox updates I did, back into this build?

https://boards.dingoonity.org/ingenic-jz4760-devices/dosbox-fixes-for-rs-97/

If not, then users may want to upgrade their binary if they use DOSBox.

There's also a spreadsheet for recommended game settings:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17KtYoIujFVYBgoBUYVAfBUSJwWcKttqztjpHVHjOjqo/edit?usp=sharing

...the settings can be put in a .conf file or adjusted in the DOSBox menu by hitting the brightness button on top of the RS-97.

I updated the binary and dosbox no longer functions. not sure what went wrong. completely removed dosbox and it's config. I reinstalled with no luck. any ideas?

Sounds like the auto-detection routines for installed apps are confused. I'm not quite sure how those work with the newer images, so I'll have to check it out.

Are you able to add a shortcut manually? In older revisions you could hit "Select" and then use the "Add Link" option to add an application.

I'll have to re-flash my test unit with the latest firmware to see what's up.

No worries. I know Gameblabla was talking about adding it to the Useless release, so I thought you might have picked it up as well.

Let me take a look at it and see if I can figure it out. It's possible the new release is incompatible and requires a new compile.

@jutley - Is the external loader no longer supported? The last image I installed used the external loader so I wouldn't need to overwrite the on-board image.

I have a question, similar to one I had when flashing the useless firmware.  When I flash the firmware, it automatically splits my SD card into 3 partitions, one that is 80mb, one that is 250 mb and another that is 1.5gb, and this is a 32gb memory card.  The only way to fix it is to go into the command prompt and diskpart and delete the partitions and create a new one.  I tried flashing the firmware with etcher.io and win32diskimager and both of them wouldn't flash it correctly without screwing up the sd card.  Why is this? How can I fix this?

Couple questions...

1.) Is anyone able to get AUE4All working? No matter what I do with the kick.rom I get the message saying kick.rom not found in mnt/int_sd/.uae4all. If so , any ideas on how I can get it working.

2.) Can I update the custom firmware in place without loosing my existing roms installed on the external_sd? I installed 1.41 with the servicepack but understand Jutley's release has some additional fixes. I'm wondering if I can install Jutley's 1.5 release over my existing stuff without worrying about losing ROM/Game data that is already existing on my current installation.

@netty:
1/  write the image on your sdcard with etcher.io or win32diskimager
2/ extand the fat32 1.5go to the max ( of the unallocated disk space) with minitool partition (free software)

Hello! First of all, thank you all for the great effort put on the RS-97 custom firmware. I just received my RS-97 (2.1 new) and flashed the latest 1.5 custom firmware right away, however I'm experiencing screen flickering on some games and menus. I tried adjusting the CPU cycles (overclocking and underclocking), but the problem stays the same. Maybe it's a problem with the default refresh rate for some of the software? Here's a brief list of the games/emulators that show screen flickering:

- NES / FCEUX emulator (every game, when 'aspect' or 'original' aspect ratios are selected, all other modes are OK. Also, some games run very slow, SMB1 or Ducktales for example, while SMB3 and others run at full speed)

- SORR (Streets of Rage remake, menus and in-game flickering)

- SuperTux (menus flicker, main game is OK)

Hi there, first of all, I would like to thanks to the team for the great job
I have one 2.1 model with 16gb sd card so I've downloaded this firmware:

Revision 2.1 (New units, came with a 16Gb sd card) :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MNSuSEbvGCnzBH3YOT_MQjcHnOklNhKL/view?usp=sharing

I presumed that current service pack is included, isn't it?

Well, I've downloaded the file and then I've burned the image in the SD card. After that, I've used partition tool to extend the main partition. Suddenly, when I wanted to enter into the SD, something didn't work well because I could'nt access.

I had done this process several times with another firmware and I had always obtained the same result, 3 REMOVABLE DISK with different letters.
In that case I've obtained just one REMOVABLE DISK and, in addition, is not accessible (check the image attached)

Do you know how can I fix it?
I'm using WINDOWS 10.

Many thanks!

It's a long standing issue with these firmwares that when burning them to the sd card, they often don't assign drive letters to the partitions created. It does not matter the quality of the sd card as stated by some. You need to use mini partition tool wizard to assign drive letters to each created partition so they can be recognized by windows. This will fix the problem. right click on each partition and select assign drive letter. make sure you apply changes or you will not have actually done anything. good luck.
