[Rumour] Digi Retroboy
« on: March 02, 2018, 01:57:37 pm »
Do you guys know anything about this?

https://digiretro.com/products/retroboy/GB.html

Really loved the design. Wishing there's one model with green/blue/yellow/red buttons just like the SFC controller.

Hope, when released, we get some RS-97-like clone with ABXYLR buttons and OpenDingux support  :D

Cheers

90% sure it's another GBA hardware clone like the k101, in which case there probably won't be any developments for it.

It looks like the K101 or RS-97 in a slightly different shell. Even the odd resolution is the same

I almost really like the DMG model, if only the pink buttons were the same black as the others. I'm leaning toward the other model because of it but I'm not a huge fan Famicom red either.

Looks like the Micro SD Card is built in right above the cartridge port instead of using a K-Card. If so I hope they ship a plastic cover for the port since I wouldn't be using it and wouldn't want it open either. Edit: Actually the Chinese site shows a K-Card adapter.

Really though whether I get it all comes down to price. The current Revo K101 which started around $90 dollars Canadian, slowly increased to $156 which to me is just too expensive. If this comes out around $100 I'll probably get one.

I wonder if the internal flash cart will have save states or will it just be stock, doesn't matter much since GBA is usually pretty good about saving though, still there are some password or get to the save point games so it would be nice.

Also... Turbo Button? Maybe a fix for the NES/GB/GBC/SMS/PC Engine emulators so they can use more computing power than it could send in GBA mode if that makes sense?

pretty sure it's the K101 (or clone of it) in a different shell, rather than something like the RS-97.

You can see written on the PCB of the cartridge in the photo the words K_GAMEPAK V.2.2 so I think it's safe to say this thread shouldn't be in the Ingenic forum now.

Good digging pingflood!

I sent a few emails there way 5 days ago trying to get any information I could about this.

Not a word back yet.

I am annoyed by the fact that it does not support SNES/SFC ROMs.

You mis-understand. it's a hardware clone, the GBA can't play SNES so neither can this. There are plenty of other devices for that.

I am anoyed by the the fact it just looks plain shit sorry.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. To me this looks far more classy than the RS-97.

I think this is the manufacturer (or more likely the distributor i guess).
http://www.gopro-in.com/zaspx/productd_gaming.aspx?productno=760

I emailed them and they said it's coming out for Europe and USA at the end of the month (I guess they mean April?).
They also said it's been out for 3 months in Japan, but i find it hard to believe - I can't find any reference to it on any Japan websites but maybe my googlefu isn't good enough.

Yeah, I live in Japan and know some Japanese.  It's on Amazon and a few other sites.  Not sure if they are selling it yet, sold it and sold out of it... But it's up.  Hope I can get my hands on one.

Can you link me to the amazon listing?

nm i found it. i thought there might be some new images but there aren't.
https://goo.gl/FL6Spk

i did find this, which shows that it's using a very similar (maybe the same) OS as the K101.

the grey one looks much nicer imo.

Okay I stumbled on something but hit a langauge barrier.

It now seems to be under the name プレイコンピューターポケット KK-00414 Play Computer Pocket

Here is a site that lists what site these are sold on and here is a reverse google image search with a lot of results.of results.

Can anyone shed some more light on this new Revo device now?
