The whole point of the RS-90 was the micro size, this has the same crippled SoC but in a bigger shell. Aside from the ultra cheap price there's not much to get excited about.
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, PlayGo, RS-90, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket c/w screen mod, PSP Go
PC:
Medion Erazer, Toshiba Z20t, Dell Mini 9, Psion 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

I have a RG 300 with poor screen, do you think it would be possable to to swap the ips screen from the RG 99 into the RG 300. I ask this because it is half the price of an ips RG 300.

So, this is end-user installable, no compiling or any other developer skills needed? Definitely trying it out, though not too soon, it will take me a while until I'll be able to get the device.

The bootloader from the 1.0 release will erase and replace the contents of the integrated flash storage, and load the new firmware from the tf card flashed with the sd card image, correct?

I got mine today and flashed it fine with the firmware below for windows users simply extract the flasher.tar file and use the flash.bat when flashing then burn the .img file to a sd card and boot it happy days this would be a cool device for the money as the screen is very nice.

Please note you need the correct drivers for windows 10 installed first follow this https://boards.dingoonity.org/retrominirs-90/a-quick-guide-to-flashing-opendingux-on-the-rs-90-using-windows-10-x64/ guide first to get them installed then continue below.

put RG99 into boot mode (Press START and then power up)
plug USB into PC
command:
$ sudo flash.sh

Windows 10
1. flash bootloader into flash memory
flash bootloader

3. extract flasher.tar.gx
4. plug USB into PC
5. put RG99 into boot mode (Press START and then power up)
6. run the flash.bat

Step2

Hi all,
I considering this device. My question is this device still enjoyable with it current stock firmware? Flashing cfw look quite difficult for me.

No, I don't think the device is worth it with stock firmware, here's a detailed review. And remember, a PocketGo is only a couple dollars more expensive, and can do much more.

I think even with the cfw, a purchase is hard to justify, unless you really like the shell format and the large screen.

Noted. I like it GB style form. Alr got v90 which is same as pocketgo. In that case, next option shd Rg300.
