SD card I have a Sandisk from Amazon which seems fine playing games but very slow when copying to, wanted one around 256gb and live in UK.

The USB port im not sure i something has happened internally as the port visibly looks fine, it might be as I plugged in a usb mouse and left it in drawer, its not working in bios/boot menu either, tried different pen drives etc any ideas?

Got a 400GB which works OK. Hve not run anything from the USB Port yet. Keeps crawling along with the Windows Updates :( . But I did Install some Games from the Windows Store. Compared to the Win 1, the Win 2 is MUCH better. Hoping the USB Port wont die on me.
What were you doing prior to it going out on you? I know with UBS 3.0, it will heat up like crazy when Writing to USB Drives, and depending on the Quality, will give you random Disconnects. Reading from it should not be that big of a Problem, especially if you are using a 2.0 Cable/Drive.

If it's a hardware problem, then it may be one of these two.

Maybe something was pressed on the usb port, and caused stress to the usb port causing one of the pins to break loose, if you plug a usb device in and slowly wiggle it a bit, do you hear a connect/disconnect sound?

If so, it may be possible to fix it.

the other thing, is maybe something got got tilted, like the usb device wasn't in right and the 5v line went to ground, and may have popped a fuse, if that's the case, you'd have to replace the fuse.

either one would require soldering.

Otherwise, i don't know how else leaving a mouse plugged in would damage it, especially if it's just a dongle/receiver for a wireless mouse.

I tried the wiggle trick and that didn't work, I also checked in bios incase it was a windows issue and thats not it either, it shows in device manager thats the strange thing, not the drive but the physical usb port.

Have you tried uninstalling it from device manager and letting Windows detect it on reboot?
