(I've tried to use searching tool to check forum's content, but I couldn'f find the specific topic, which I'm interested in)

I've recently decided to install some GOG games wrapped with DosBox, as well as to install D-Fend to run Star General (DOS version).

And I've got constant problem with screen cutted in half. I could relatively easily deal with this issue in Windows games, but I've got no idea what shall I do in term of DOS games. For GOG games (installed Aladdin) I've tried to set to window mode with screen resolution approximately adjusted to screen size. And let's say that it somehow solved the issue.. But not entirely.

The worser thing is, that in case of D-Fend and Star General it's not working as it should. I've tried various screen resolutions (including 0x0, which should set the desktop's resolution) for full screen, but every time I had the screen cutted. Window mode simply doesn't work as it should - no matter which resolution I'll set, the window is every time very small and it's making playing in this game very annoying.

I would be very grateful for tips how should I adjust D-Fend's settings to make it properly.

For dosbox you can change the renderer (I'm not sure how, I just know you can... google it). Alternatively you can use DGVoodoo2 with dosbox, but I'm not sure that will work as well.

I've tried to find something about it on other forums, fortunately I've found something, which not provided me exact solution, but directed me into solution. I've changed in D-Fend display settings output on OpenGl (surprisingly, I've ready many advices to choose overlay, but it didn't work), I've also scanline "improvement" on turned off.

And it's now working as it should. I've tried to do similar thing with GOG's games and it also works as it should. Mission complete.

It's a problem with DOSBox and Creators Update. It's the reason why I went back to Anniversary Update so I could still use Overlay and DDraw as renderer with DOSBox.
