Alright so I know there's already a bunch of reviews and impressions so I just wanna add a few titles (gamecube pcsx2) I've played that run great.


First off I have experienced no crashes *knockonwood
The only nonemulator games I've played is The Godfather, NBA Live 2004, 06 and Midnight Club 2.

Installing to that USB fit is a nightmare - the thing overheats badly, so I've only installed quick installable games to it so it won't overheat and malfunction. I use the USB mainly for Roms and the Microsd for games.

I plan to still install and run: FIFA 14, Mafia 2, Borderlands, CodWaW, Firewatch, Gears 1, Gun, Splinter Cell, and NBA 2k12


I know most of the games I like are old and not very popular.

Lastly before I post game's FPS I would really love to see a thread dedicated to Performance tweaks and speed ups that can be used for games I know a lots been posted in that other thread and it's extremely cluttered. I'm not very experienced with emulators so if there's any advice to get these to run better PLEASE feel free to let me know I would love to have some performance increases.

I haven't tweaked BIOS at all so IDK if that would make a difference. I fully believe my results are worse than others definitely worse than GPDWinGamer with his beelink. I will retry any of these games after some tweaks if anyone has any ideas. I'm using the OpenGL as my graphics driver, I tried dx11 and 12 and had slightly worse or the same fps.

Gamecube Games on Dolphin 5.0:
007 James Bond Agent Under Fire (PAL)= Not Playable (20-60fps with 20-100%, game works great when no people are visable, as soon as enemies pop up game drops to around 20-30 and is slow motion like 50%)

Burnout 2 (NTSC) = Playable (perfect speed runs great no problems)

NBA Street (PAL) = Playable (about 48fps with 80-100% it's not bad, definitely slower than perfect play but I can get through a game np)

Smuggler's Run Warzones (PAL) = Playable (not great fps and speed but it's definitely playable, a little slow at times but I plan to get through the whole campaign)

Luigi's Mansion (NTSC) = Playable as you have probably seen on youtube 30fps with 100% speed)

Mario Golf (PAL)= Playable (not bad about 45fps with 75% speed. I can play a round)

Mario Tennis (PAL) = not playable slow 30fps with 70% speed

Mario Baseball (PAL)= not playable (same as tennis) and crashed dolphin when starting a game

Mario Soccer (PAL)= very playable no problems (as seen on youtube)

Wario World (PAL) = playable (not bad about 45fps with 80% speed)



PS2 games on PSCX 1.4
I will have this list updated tomorrow. I am going to test 007agent under fire, arctic thunder, dark cloud, hot shots 4, smuggler's run 2, nfl 2k5 and whiplash

when I get my replacement I should try various pcsx2 versions. 1.00 up to 1.50.
If you wanna play compatible games like Kingdom Hearts it doesn't hurt using older versions.

If you can see some demanding games like Shadow of the Colossus are unplayable slow but well optimized games like Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts run pretty well.
Final Fantasy X runs on pcsx2 on the gpd win indeed better than the PC version.
Maybe I'm just saying that because I had freezes right away which weren't even driver crashes.
The HD Remaster doesn't like Intel graphics at all, even on all my other devices.

Please try Timesplitters 2 on ps2

The emulation for ps2 is basically for your nice gaming laptops and desktop computers. Dolphin though is pretty great but it burns up the device so damn quickly idk what to do about that.

FFX, X-2, and star ocean 3 for example apparently all runned great, as did kingdom hearts as well all saw, so I think it depends on the game... star ocean 3 is one I still want to play ^^

Dolphin burns it up quickly? I get 3 hours non-stop dolphin gameplay on one charge with birhtness max wifi and bluetooth on. It also doesn't get hotter then 65-70 degrees...

Go into your Intel driver software and adjust the performance/battery slider to about halfway . I have found this to work out better than full performance as the device doesn't get nearly as hot and the battery lasts much longer . At this setting Dolphin still runs well and it's a good tradeoff.

BTW there is another PS2 emulator that may work out better than pcsx2.
Check out Play! Ps2 emulator http://purei.org - this one was built from the ground up for use with OpenGLES and is even ported for Android devices.

Just in case... Everyone should keep in mind this emulator is not nearly as developed as PCSX2 at this point. While it may one day become the definitive replacement to PCSX2, at this point in time it simply isn't there yet.

I will try that emulator with the same games but I won't get my hopes up. I love the device but I can't help but think there's something wrong with mine when it burns up incredibly fast. I can't play any of the PC games I want without the device getting super hot. The Godfather from 2006 burns up the device along with Bully, NBA 2k12 and of course Dolphin Ishiiruka build (or however you spell that, and mafia 2? don't bother can't run at 720p and the device gets hotter than holy hell at 800x600 after about 10 min).

If anyone else is having battery problems let me know if you found a way to circumvent this. My device throttles like crazy with nba 2k12 and bully and especially dolphin. It's running at about 90C after just 30min of The Godfather and it's from 2006!

Yeah your device definitiely is overheating for sure.

On a constant max load, I have never seen any of my cores exceed 85 degrees Celsius.
