Is the GPD Win 2 using the same silicone pads as the Win 1?
« on: January 31, 2018, 01:05:22 pm »
Last week I got the dreaded stuck face buttons (both X and A on mine) and D-pad also going up on pressing left or right.

So I opened it up , only to find that for both silicon pads, the ?nubs? are torn, such that the nubs wont fully depress but get sort of stuck halfway in. This is for a machine that is now 6 months old. Apparently the tearing of the silicone nubs on the pads is happening to a lot of devices quite quickly.

Very dissappointing I think for a machine with this pricetag and from a company who should be experienced in this area by now.

Does anybody know whether the GPD Win 2 uses the same (flimsy) silicone pads for the D-Pad and ABXY buttons?

Currently, it sounds like there's a big improvement on the membranes according to the reviews. Check out The Phawx's videos.

Thanks, I must have missed the one about the dpad (streetfighter video). Good to see Phawx being happy with it.

Just hope the durability will be as good as the first impressions.
