What do you guys use to control the WIN when you have to put it into Xinout mode before starting any games/Emulators?

Im thinking of ordering one of those thin capacitive stylus pens
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N1BRWLA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I just use the enter key... I just click once on the game before switching modes.

Using a Microsoft BT Mouse 5000. Works well.

Got my unit finally delivered to me. Took them long enough. They used Singapoor Post, and that one delegated the delivery to Russian EMS, which extended the delivery time quite a bit.

Quite a long time ago I asked Kendy to include cyrillic language stickers if they aren't going to do a bilingual K/Bs, and he said that they will do so (that was in the IGG comments) . Got no stickers - probably should've reminded them in some way. Did anyone got theirs?

Works well, does not seem to crash - I ran Borderlands 2 as a test for quite a while (that game seemed to consistently cause crashes on the faulty units).

BTW I managed to optimise Borderlands 2 quite a bit by using combo of Cinematic renderer (removes black outlines, improves FPS by 30-40%), disabled dynamic shadows (brebaked environment shadows are still on), reduced scene shadow res to 256,  and low screen resolution - 762x428 - minimum at which menu/inventory text is readable. That gave me really good FPS - 30-40 FPS even in combat, with dips to 24-25 in large outdoor areas with monsters and up to 50-60 in non-open areas. That all with medium textures, medium detail, near foliage and medium render distance. Inventory menu uses a different post process rendering, so it slows down to 25 and lower the more items you have, since they all are rendered in real time and have a lot of polygons.

WillowEngine.ini for everyone interested

Now, I want a good free utility to back up the state of my system in case I screw up badly. Can somebody recomend one?

Macrium Reflect Free.
It can even image the drive while in windows.

Just stay away from drvxml...it's more of a pain than it's worth.

I too have just received my GPD Win and haven`t done/added anything to it as yet, still getting a feel for this device ( also it`s my 1st Win10 machine, have been a WinXP user for a long time.) I`m similar to Sinael in that I want to image the GPD Win before I do anything major. By the way, how does one actually up/access the Win`s BIOS? Like what are the key combos to access it ? Thank you in advance.

Edit: Nvrmnd, I figured it out. Reboot and hold/few taps on the "Del" key. But is it possible to rotate the BIOS view instead of sideways or not? Or am I overlooking something simple?

Use Macrium Reflect Free to do drive backups, just install and backup while you're still in windows.
Then if you need to restore boot of a rescue CD/usb that it allows you to create.

Sadly the bios always shows sideways, nothing you can do there...well maybe hdmi to your tv? (Never tried).

Heads up!
All 7 of the games Ubisoft gave away this last half year will be up for grabs this weekend. If you missed any here's your chance to get them all.
Some of them may kinda suck, but hey...free games to play on your GPD Win :D

Hey guys. Check out this video of me playing "We Were Here" on the GPD Win.
This is actually a game that I'm developing, together with a team. It's a puzzle/co-op/thriller/communication game.

Would be cool to hear what you guys think of this. You can even try the alpha demo on your GPD win (or pc) if you want.  You need a second player to play the game.

This heatsink mod seems a little hard core

those heatsink mods honestly seam pants on head *censored* the shim method without exposing more of the sensitive electronics to the elements still seams like the best method if anything someone who knows thermodynamics/areodynamics could redesign the heatsink an make a bolt on solution if one with those skills were actually present with one of our units.

Yes our units get warm during gaming but least its not like our phones when doing 3D gaming!

Been playing the armored core portable series on my win without a issue just set 2 frame skipping an set to auto so it runs smoothly almost the entire time at full speed unless theirs a boat load of missles then the frame skip kicks in

My GPD Win seems to have an issue. First the keyboard stopped working and now the whole thing will not turn on. When I plug it in the light turns blue with a pulsing pink or red. When I unplug it the light stays blue with nothing on the screen then the light turns off.

Does anyone ever use the L3 and R3 keys on the GPD WIN?

I find them unusable in the positions they are in

Hi,
Someone on a forum is selling his GPD Win for a reasonable price. He claims it works well but he ordered it via Indiegogo.

It seems that the Indiegogo version is plagued by issues (439 pages here). Are these issues shared by ALL devices? What should I ask or check before I buy?

Thanks. I'd love to play indie games on this thing.

All versions may have issues, the early models (the ones that shipped to chinese backers) are the ones with the most issues. It's worth compiling a list of problems and asking the seller to test for them, things like display driver crashes under heavy load (hardware problem, not enough power to the CPU/GPU) and a keyboard not working.

So I noticed in the comments section for the video on the Pocket GPD put up on Youtube, that GPD said Ubuntu and drivers will be released for the GPD WIN when the Pocket releases or shortly after.

Good news.

I never do. I think it even makes sense to rebind them to the keyboard if you can, they're in such a weird position they're borderline pointless. I find it acceptable to use keys like the number keys, f, etc. whilst playing guild wars 2 but would never even consider using the L3/R3.
