GPD Win Map the Buttons?

Has anyone been able to alter the mouse mode on the Win?

I don't want the scroller you know? I'd like to be able to play old games that don't support xinput and rebinding the mouse mode buttons would be great.

Uhm old games usually support dinput, that's why the switch is there right? :)

Also, did *you* fix your crashes? I assume so given that you are asking this :D
But yeah, if you support controllers at all, it will be in dinput mode.

Otherwise, indeed, xinput mapper or pinnacle game profiler or something like that... ^^

You know what I didn't even read about dinput, so i feel a little dumb lol and honestly I haven't even played anything on it besides Smuggler's Run for gamecube which runs pretty well at 25-30fps it's definitely playable, no crashes there.

I haven't been having much luck installing to my slim fit USB drive it overheats bad and malfunctions during installations of certain games. I'll research dinput and see what comes up, I really want to play Godfather so I've been spending time trying to get that to work

But... there is nothing to research @brushpicks11  ... the switch has 3 modes: Mouse, xinput, dinput. You set the switch to other mode. You start the game. The controller will now work. That's it. Just like the XD has two modes wiht ps3 and xbox 360.

Controller will be picked up by game if you start it with that switch set to high. No config needed.

And ah okay :D I thought you had crashes (didn't you say something like "looks great and crap... crashes"?) but glad to hear yours is okay too ^^ Thinks are looking up it seems. Maybe we are over that one bad batch.

Godfather not recognizing anything.

Bigger problem

Older games keep having video errors. When I launch a game it starts with the screen oriented to the left, it's portrait in the left position I have no idea how to fix this

This... is luckily not a hardware issue, or well kind of it's because of the screen resolution or something. But people figured out it's easily fixable by something called "borderless gaming" http://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/download

That apparently fixes it. @brushpicks11  The problem only occurs with some old games. :)

I am praying my karma will mean I get a GPD WINNER which does not crash every 5 minutes into a 3d game or shut itself off... XD

Also that other thread is completely cluttered, I'm hoping any performance tweaks and settings get posted in their own thread.

I don't understand why when the Win boots up while charging some battery logo comes up and then the device shuts down and I have to turn it back on again. Super weird

EDIT: LOL I'm hoping the same for you!

I have been asking people to make separate threads for each guide... hell I made one called "How to have crash free win" but no-one does/uses it... >__<

that is normal. I guess it might be because the xD literally broke powering on while charging - together with accidentally using a fast charger it seems to be the leading cause of death for XD's. So maybe they didn't fix the charging circuit but made it impossible to brick it like this.

I am not going to try a fast charger, or turning it on/off while charging. Why test if it will still kill it? 0_0

If mine works perfectly (no brick, no driver crashes, no shutoffs, no wrong keys, ) I will call it the "GPD jackpot" :)

Alright so windowborderless gaming does not work for me. However!

A piece of freeware called dxwnd is amazing! Runs games windowed and I can play NBA live 2004 and 06 (yes I'm slightly outdated here) by running it in dinput mode and then switching to mousemode to navigate the screens

I cannot get Godfather to work though, I'll see what I can do.

but is it fullscreen-like windowed? On a 5.5 inchs creen I would not like to lose half the screen >_<

Also... for godfaterh... doesn't mouse and keyboard work? :)

As in, mouse-mode?

Mouse mode works but I can't assign the WASD to the left stick of the Win.

I really hate that GPD added a scroller to the stick and didn't give us the option to change that.

It would be so perfect if I could eliminate the scroller and just map whatever I wanted so that The Godfather could work.

Alright figured out The Godfather took a lot of searching, it was a game related problem

Still hope someone figures out how to map different buttons to the default mouse mode GPD has
