GPD Win 1 - how to diagnose reason of resetting device?
« on: July 10, 2019, 11:38:10 am »
For about 2 months I didn't use my GPD WIn 1 (and before that everything was fine). Sadly, when I've turned it on after this period, I've noticed that it's keep resetting (usually a couple of minutes after playing some game or using browser and downloading stuff - surprisingly, it's absolutely fine when I'm leaving device to download updates for windows and let it install them - then it's working good even for longer period of time.

I'm not sure if it's battery fault - I think that problems occured after I've installed updates for Windows 10 (there were some since I didn't turn it on for some time), . Battery seems to be charging in the same time as previously (there are also no sudden drops of power), device also doesn't heat especially, so can it be that some of those updates messed up my device.

I've already turned off automatic restart on system failure, but it didn't help.

How can I diagnose for 100% reason of those restarts? And if it's not the battery's fault - how can I repair it? Many thanks for help!

Try booting a linux live USB and see if the problem still exists. Manjaro is a little weird but it fully supports the hardware, including the SD card slot: https://manjaro.org/
