Gpd win 1 Dpad replacement or mod

Hi does anyone know how to mod a gpd win 1 Dpad? The dpad is ok but spongy and sometimes when you press forward or backwards even if it's perfect in the middle it makes your character duck instead of walking!! Very anoying in precise platformers!
Also is it worth just changing the membrane? Or is it best to change Dpad and membrane?
Any help on this really appreciated as can't play games with dpad and refuse to use the analogue for 2d platformers 😁

I got the parts to do the mod, but haven't done it yet. I don't play games on it much, and the high price/low availability of the device makes me a little nervous.

I'd be interested to hear your results if you go through with modding it.

Hi Quadjfet thanks for the link and info.
I think I have a spare NDSL dpad somewhere or definitely similar! I may give this a try? I modded my GCW zero one with great success so dont mind giving this a go!
