Dolphin Ishiiruka crashes on DX12
« on: January 10, 2018, 10:57:01 pm »
As the title says really, I only want to play Wind Waker and can't get a steady 30fps. At the moment it works using DX11 but from reading the reddit threads I understand DX12 yields a nice boost and 30fps is achievable, however all I get is a black screen and "Dolphin has stopped working".

Driver version is 20.19.15.4835 from 16/12/17. My Win is the Aluminium lid version with BIOS 5.11. Ishiiruka build is 758.

Anybody else had this problem?

I think latest intel drivers broke dx12 in dolphin. I use drivers from June and work fine.

So, try changing drivers.

Edit, these are mine: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26984/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-

Works ok for me with ishiruka 744.

Thanks Skelton I'll try those drivers. Is the 744 build different to the latest stable release?

EDIT: That's worked fine, DX12 no longer crashes so thanks!

Getting 29-30fps with the odd drop to 27 or so, got the variable clock set to about 80% which seems to be the most consistent.

To be honest I use 744 because I haven?t updated anf the games I use work fine with that build.

DX12 support is now also broken on my GPD Win with Windows 10 Home Anniversary Update and the latest Intel HD Graphics driver. With all the updates we've got for our GPD Win with Windows 10 they broke more stuff than actually fixing something.  ???

The Intel drivers are the culprit I'm pretty sure. I'm on the latest version of Windows 10, but I changed the drivers to avoid this issue by using the PHDGD drivers since I've noticed better framerates in Dolphin with it (In my experience)

If you run Dolphin Ishiiruka as Administrator it's still possible to get it to run with DX12. Something must be broken in the new drivers because PCSX-Reloaded with P.E.Op.S. Soft Refresh V1.19 runs better with using the System Memory option. It doesn't make sense because the GPU memory is shared so it shouldn't make much difference. This is also fixed with running PCSX-Reloaded as Administrator.
