Where to buy GPD 7 and GPD 5
« on: March 26, 2014, 04:37:49 am »
I own a JXD7300B but I am now tempted to buy the new GPD 7 and 5 because of the better hardware and now with skelton custom os support.
Where is the best site to buy online - Dinodirect, Willgoo, Geekbuying, etc.
My concern is the condition, tech support and shipping of the devices

There are good and bad reports from all this stores. Geekbuying is very active in this forums lately.

Currently cheapest place for GPD G5A is Aliexpress: 94.91$

When my JXD 7800 died after about two months, Willgoo stood by their guarantee of a six month warrantee:

http://www.willgoo.com/shippinginfo.html?zenid=eee8d1fbcd23432822929576c5d5e463

I contacted their customer service via email with my purchase info, I tried a few technical requests that they asked of me to verify its condition, and they agreed that the death was not my fault. Then a little negotiating ensued (Sure you don't want t buy a new one? After all, shipping is pretty expensive / Nope, I just want a replacement, perhaps for the cost of my shipping back to you? / Well, how much would that be? Etc.).

In about thirty days from my first email to them, I had a new GPD G7 with minimal fuss and out of pocket expense. At least, minimal for a US person dealing with China (with a fifteen hour time-zone difference from US Pacific, it's kind of like emailing the future...) But, then again, I knew it wouldn't be like heading over to the local Walmart. :)

Thank you Vinc3Has3
Wilgoos action is kind of assuring for buying stuff from China.
I and my friend bought JXD 7300. But his set bricked after 1 month and my set have been still ok for 6 months (touch wood) I think its the custom rom I put in that makes it run cooler , my friends set was using the default rom.
I believe Wilgoo should have PAYPAL option cos that is my prefered payment.

Some Willgoo customers have also bad experiences though, I think they're all very similar. Personally I like Geekbuying at the moment because they have a UK warehouse which can make things a bit easier for me.
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, PlayGo, RS-90, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket c/w screen mod, PSP Go
PC:
Medion Erazer, Toshiba Z20t, Dell Mini 9, Psion 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

It doesn't inspire confidence when a site lists three different skus for the same product on the homepage.
