Hello everyone, I found out some things which might be (extremely) usefull if not yet known. I downloaded need for speed most wanted for psp via happy chick, found game had a black screen and lagged quite a lot on the built in PPSSPP. If anyone wants to play this game, and I think the same tips apply to burnout dominator which had the same problems (but haven't re-tested it yet!), the following settings let NFS most wanted run perfectly:

- disable mipmapping in graphic options. With this enabled, half the screen is black. With it disabled, everything renders correctly.

- KEEP MULTITHREADING OFF . It's strange, but with multithreading on, the game runs at about 60% with every possible speedhack and frameskipping is needed. With it off, it runs 100% fullspeed in races all the time with every speedhack OFF at 2x PSP rendering resolution.

So this might be important in general: if your PSP game runs too slow, try *disabling* multithreading if you have it on , since apparently on at least some games, it only makes PPSSPP run much, much slower.

End of PSA, happing gaming everyone!

Some games work better with multithread on and others with off. The same as using non buffered graphics or buffered. Using non buffered usually speed up emulation but some graphic effects will be missed. Setting CPU speed to 60 helps some games to? but can make others worse. The good thing is trying different setup per game and after that saving a config per game

I just bought a GPD xd...HOPEFULLY THE ppsspp works great on that. Have you tested the following games?

Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and 2
Silent Hill 0rigins and Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Flatout Head On
Tony Hawk Underground 2 Remix
Tony Hawk Project 8
Jak and Daxter Lost Frontier

Pretty much these are my go to games!

None of those, but all the project diva games, kingdom hearts birth by sleep, need for speed most wanted, valkyria chronicles 2, and oreimo all run (more or less) perfectly on it at fullspeed (and XD has the exact same hardware), so I think at least some if not most of those games will at will :-) But no, did not test those...

Ok so by none of those you mean you have tested none of those? I see. Guess I will just find out when it shows up. Do we have anything like a firm release dats?

I only tried S.H origins, and it crash for now,

Other usefull tips are doesn't use nothing in automatic mode, like frameskipping, texture filters, etc

Display resolution, select native device resolution.

And don't select mipmapping.

Good tips in this thread, thanks.

Has anyone tried to see if the following PSP games

NHL07
Gran Turismo
OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast

work on the GPD Q9 (or Q88+) or other Android gaming tablets? Just curious. :)

I've managed to get OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast working. Well mostly working.
The issues I'm having with it, are that occasionally a graphical artifact will pop up over the screen. (Nothing I do in the settings seems to fix this though it mostly happens around tall structures and tunnels), and I have to have it set to frameskip 2 non buffered with mip-mapping turned off for a somewhat stable framerate.

What slows the game down still though is the night stages. Every other level is fairly smooth but the night stages hit the framerate quite hard.

I'm having an issue with Gitaroo Man also. (I've almost completed the game, so I know it's do-able on a GPD XD running PPSSPP).
I have it running very smoothly, however it seems the sound of the Gitaroo playing is really fuzzy. Other sound is fine. Just the gitaroo. Anyone know how to fix that? Is there a build that doesn't have this issue? Just asking, that's all.

If you want to play a game that doesn't work, try going to the PPSSPP site, go to downloads, and find the latest release builds for android. The store version wouldn't play LocoRoco but the one on their site did.
