Spoof android version on GPD XD+
« on: January 14, 2019, 10:40:19 pm »
Hey can someone point me to a guide on how to do this?
Recently a few devs decided to be dicks and changed their game requirements to require Android 8.0, like WTF, i have those games still installed on my regular GPD with Android 4.4.4 and it works fine, but now i can't install it on mu GPD XD+ or ever delete it from my regular GPD as i won't be able to re install it.
What mostly sucks is that i paid for those games, like Bully and now i can't play it on anything, the newest Android i have on my devices is 7.0

WTF.

Technically you could just fetch the APK on another device and decompile it via apktool, patch up the SDK level and recompile it.

This will of course fail if they actually updated the game to rely on APIs that only exist on Android version's greater than your current one.

If they only updated the minimum required SDK level to lock out previous customers though, then this should work.
