I almost bought a GPD XD when I heard about them in 2016, but I didn't (to my regret).
Now that the plus is coming out, I think this might be a good time to get into it. With the pre-order bonuses, it is nice to shave $10 off the price.
But GPD quality-control is known to be hit-and-miss, and I worry about getting burned as an 'early adopter.'
On the other hand, this is a second-generation device (with new processor architecture though).
Should I pre-order with the slight discount to also get it earliest, or wait down the line in case there are QC problems? Or is it a gamble with any batch of the device?
Also, I kinda want a blue or red one, but who knows when/if they will be ready. Do those colours distract from the screen when you are playing games/movies?
I need to play h265 encoded videos on the go, and my existing phone (Snapdragon 650) won't cut it. If the XD Plus can play 10-bit HEVC-encoded video, it would be valuable for me to purchase now.
