PS4 in bed with GPD XD
« on: July 13, 2016, 02:46:38 am »
I been using this to stream PC games via moonlight. Now I tried the modded Sony Remote Play app and have successfully been using it to play PS4 Games!

Very Happy :)

I had to download both versions of the remote play one with soft controls and one with hidden. This allowed me to map controls and then play with the version with the controls hidden :)

Can you tell me which Apk files you used? I tried the regular ps remote apk with no luck and the one for all devices with now luck because it crashed due to no Bluetooth identified.

Got it to work, the problem was that I used thew stock firmware and not the rooted one from skelton. The only probl?em I have is with the right analog stick, this does not transfer very well with Black Ops 3 for example. I ghuess for simple games this works great but for shooters the setup is not perfect. Tried to connect a PS4 controller with an OTG cable and this worked pretty nice even though with WLAN connection you have some stutters.

If you want, you can get around the right stick problem by installing Tincore Keymapper. And then make the Remote Play App think you are using a SHIELD Controller for example. Then it works like a charm.

So I installed Tincore and gave it access. When I start it in any application or the main menu, the sticks and buttons pop up of the Controller and I can move them. When I go into the PS Remote app, the buttons won't show up and doesn't matter which button I press it is either cancel or apply, so the Tincore menu pops up and closes, means the mapping won't pop up and work. Furthermore I don't know how to trick the app in thinking there is a different controller connected than the PS3 on. Could you give me a hint on how to do this. Thanks

You don't need to map everything yourself. Tincore has a premade profile to be used as a shield controller. Go into settings - Create virtual gamepads - Virtual gamepad mode. I have mode S. And I set the Xbox controller in the XD gamepad settings. I have Tincore on autostart.

Hi mate, think I might be being thick but i've done the above (selected mode S and set the XD controller to Xbox) and I still can't get the right stick working. Under "Create virtual gamepads" there are four "Virtual gamepad mode" options, I've tried setting just one and all four to mode S but no joy either time. Did you need to purchase the "Analog stick output" add-on for it to work?  ???

cheers

Sorry me again  :-[ I've purchased the "Analog stick output" add-on but I still can't get the right stick to work. I've been through all the settings and didn't see anything specific to enabling this option - have I missed something? Is this the only add-on I need?

I've been googling to try and find a solution/step-by-step guide but I'm struggling tbh so any help will be much appreciated.

I think you need to make a Profile with your new settings and give it a name and activate it with the check icon.

Thanks, I couldn't figure out how to get the right stick to work with Mode S but I have got it working after unchecking the Create Virtual Gamepads option and mapping the sticks/buttons to the on screen controls.

Hi, could you please help me in the same matter?

I tried the remote play and it worked nicely, but like you, the right stick didnt work.

I got tincore keymapper and same thing. It recognizes my gamepad as xbox, when I move the right stick it recognizes on the screen, but I cant control the cameras in any game! If I use the touchscreen I can rotate the camera, but using the right stick I couldnt. I tried to drag the icon on the right side.

What I think it?s strange is that even if I move the right stick icon to the left, nothing changes, so I think the buttons position on the screen doesnt matter.

I bought the analog stick support in tincore keymapper but it didnt change a thing if I am not wrong.

i finally got everything setup, and both sticks working using Tincore, but none of the other buttons work when i have tincore activated, just the sticks, and on top of that the ps4 controller overlay won't go away. how do i get rid of that? and do i have to map each button individually? someone said something about using the shield profile, where do i select that at? is that "mode S"?

I tried everything, from stock mapper to tincore, nothing solved my problem: in remote play, the right analog stick refuses to work, does nothing. PS3 gamepad mode. Any suggestion?
