Just received GPD-G7 from Geekbuying - Tiny review/problems
« on: February 12, 2014, 09:09:30 pm »
Tablet was wrapped amazingly by Geekbuying. Nice screen, great buttons, but a few problems:

-left stick seems a little more rigidity than the right stick. The right stick feels the exact same as a 360 stick, but the left is a little harder to push. This is barely noticeable . Also the right stick when clicked down clicks once on the way down and once on the way back up, like its popping up. Click down registers, but I'm not quite sure if the click back up does. Hoping that this is not a sigh the stick is going to break....maybe it needs wearing in?

-Screen is fairly good. BUT my screen in certain spots looks like it has a water droplet behind it. I can't really explain it but that is how it looks to me. I have no idea what causes it but it looks like its permanently there. When I shake the screen the "water droplet" wiggles. Can't really see it with a black background.

Removed the protector, spots still there. I can probably live with the spots, but if the stick breaks that will suck.

Thanks Eric,

I have the tablet in a air tight bag with silica packets to see if I can get the water removed from behind the screen. And the stick seems to be getting a little better with time.

I would like to say that the tablet was shipped excellently. It arrived quickly and it was wrapped extensively. I give you guys 10/10 for service.

I will PM you some picks very soon.

Another trick is to put it in a bag of rice in a cupboard somewhere, thats what you do if a mobile phone drops in water ect.. ;D

Just opened the bag, seems to still be there, but it looks a little different. Might try the rice method, if that don't work then maybe something is going on behind the screen.

Its the size of the tip of a Q-Tip, and if I move or slightly shake the tablet it jiggles, so I assume it is water.

Besides the screen blemish is the screen other wise good?  If its liquid try using a hair dryer with hot air blasting, maybe it can evaporate whatever it is.

Yup, Besides the blemish the screen is great. maybe I will post a pic to see if anyone can identify it.

Edit: Pics, its really hard to see on camera... But when I tilt the tablet back it seems like light is coming through that specific area.

My right stick is lower and feels a little more gritty than the left stick(which is perfect)

Should I take the tablet apart?
