How is the q9??
« on: May 23, 2017, 05:58:06 pm »
I ordered the GPD Q9 from Walmart online last week and I'm anxiously waiting for it to get here. I really don't see too much love for it on YouTube but from the videos that I've seen, it's a really good device. Atm I am really excited to play some old SNES/ps1 games on it, but of course I wanna eventually play some PSP and n64. The question I have, if anyone here has one. Could I possibly get some tips on how to get the most of this device? Btw I would have bought the XD but I only had 120$ to spend. I sold my ps Vita to buy one and I do miss her lol but I updated by accident and could not get the hacks I wanted anymore. Thanks in advance guys

I bought my GPD Q9 PSV a year ago, and i use it almost every day. It has very smooth and responsive buttons and analog nubs. The screen is big and very bright, the games look just amazing on the 7 inch screen.
With the original stock rom and dedicated emulators it is far enough for Android, PS1, MAME, NEOGEO, and the 16-8 bit home console emulation with full speed (60 fps). If you want the device more powerful, in order to run PSP, 32X, or Dreamcast games, you need to install Legacy rom, i think.

You wont regret buying it. ;)

Sweet! Thanks for the reply! I am chomping at the bit to get it lol how is the battery and is it as picky the XD is for with chargers? I have heard that if you charge it with a turbo charger, then it's pretty much a brick after that.

You can find lots of discussions here about charger issues, but i experienced that  1 Amper output charger is optimal for the Q9. When i used a 0,7 Amper charger, the device  charged up to 75%, but a 2 Amper output could occur extra heating or battery damage.

Ahh ok, I have no problem using the wall charger that it comes with. I drive locally as a truck driver and plan to take it with me., I sit alot at places so I need my games. I just wanted to make sure it doesn't fry it while trying to change with a typical cigarette lighter charger lol
