Hinge/screen problem (Fixed; recommending PsyOps for all repairs)

I just found that my GPD's screen has lines and flickering problems whenever I try to open it more than a quarter of the way through. I've had this device for, oh, 2 and a half years (it's the original, not the plus). Is there a way to get it repaired without it costing as much as a whole new device?

I'd rather not attempt to fix it myself; I don't have the dexterity for that.

It's the flat cable, you just need to replace it, but if you don't feel so confident about doing it you could try to contact PsyOps, if you live in the USA, or if you known any technician who works repairing tablets and smartphones he could replace it for you.

Well I sent it to a repair place (uBreakiFix) but the guy there told me it needs a new screen...and he can't get a replacement part for it. He mentioned that they can't order parts through Ebay but if I can get ahold of a replacement screen myself, they do allow customers to bring replacement parts with them. Is it still possible to contact the manufacturer and get a new screen for the original GPD XD directly from them? Aliexpress no longer sells it.

PsyOps you say? Can you give more info about them with links? I do live in the USA. (Edit: I see, they're a forum member, not a company. In any case, thanks for the info. I'll try to contact them)

GPD isn't selling parts for their devices, specially the old gpd xd. But since PsyOps, the user, has plenty of them, he probably could have a screen for selling. He isn't that much active here lately, but try at Reddit or Discord that you will be able to send him a message:

I contacted PsyOps and he fixed it for a reasonable rate (turned out it just needed a new ribbon cable). I recommend his services to anyone living in the United States. Thank you PsyOps and thank you to those who informed me about him~
