RIght now I'm playing only GTA SA for Android.

After finishing (or get stuck too long somewhere :P) I plan to start Conkers Bad Fur Day for N64.

I feel kind of bad that I just play one game on this great machine so far :(, but I mostly just like to play one game at a time...

Geometry Wars 3 is a nice game on the XD, good for showcasing the analog sticks.

I would love to play Geometry Wars 3 on the XD, is it an android app or through an emu?

You can play Geometry Wars 3 as a native android app.  Mine came with the Google play store app, (latest english firmware).

You go to the play store, link your account, and you can download all the apps you've bought (need wifi connection).

I've been spending more time on Geometry Wars 3 and native android apps than on emulators.

I got Geometry Wars 3 for $2 on sale awhile back.  I see it's $10 now.

Now that I have finally gotten round to tweaking the AGS2 WHDLoad frontend source to add some features I wanted, I have been enjoying lots of Amiga goodness.

I've borrowed the AMS skin (another AGS derivative) for now but plan to work on something new soon. Once I've tided things up I'll try to release it for others to try out.

Been playing Sword of Xolan, neat little platformer with full controller support:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Alper.SwordOfXolan&hl=en_GB

Also been playing Pocket Rally which again has full controller support:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.IMStudio.PocketRallyLite&hl=en_GB

Got Neon Shadow and Dead Effect 2 still to play, DE2 is listed as having controller support and Neon Shadow apparently has it now.
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, PlayGo, RS-90, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket c/w screen mod, PSP Go
PC:
Medion Erazer, Toshiba Z20t, Dell Mini 9, Psion 5MX
Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

OMG that platformer and especially that really game look awesome thanks lemmy-kun! :D

Also, I loved dead effect one on the gpd archos gamepad 2, so will have to play this sequel. I would say the graphics look like a ps3 game, but that is not true. they would not look bad on the PS4, in fact... 0_0

As for me:

Einhander!

Final fantasy 7

Still castle of illusion, am now halfway trough and it's lovely

Illusion of time

Sometimes a round of dodonpachi!

And the Augmented Reality? minigame "How the heck do I get these buttons higher"! Great graphics that one!

This looks like a really good interface for Amiga games - how easy is it to set up WHDLoad?  I have no experience with Amiga on Android (and won't until Xmas :D ) but I've used WinUAE for many years, never used WHDs though I've stuck with individual disk images.

I've been playing Sword of Xolan most of this evening since my daughter went to bed and it's one of the better platformers on the Play Store, in fact it's my new favourite game! The enemies are varied and all have different attack patterns and there's secrets to search for in every level, it has that "just one more go" quality most games seem to lack. The levels are also perfectly suited to mobile play - you can play it for 3 minutes or for an hour.

The Rally game has been out a while now and is well worth playing. Unfortunately Neon Shadow doesn't properly support controls, you can play it fine with the analogs but fire is mapped to L3 and R3 so aiming, moving and shooting is awkward. Dead Effect 2 is better than the first one IMO and you can remap all controls in the options which is great. Don't know if they've done this in the first one but IIRC it never used to supports physical controls.

I've been playing Tiny Dangerous Dungeons on my phone quite a bit too, it's like a simple Metroidvania with Gameboy graphics, basically Metroid crossed with Kid Dracula! I might message the developer and ask them to put control support in:

The rally game looks quite neat yes, but controller only works in the menu for me... how do you get it to work in the race itself? Both xbox and ps3 modes I tried... I could map it off course XD

dead effect one had full controller support, was fun to play on the archos with graphics at high, really showcased that even the mali-400mp4 *could* get some nice graphics onscreen at 720p40-60fps with a properly programmed game! You could remap all the controls in that one tough, I played the whole singleplayer campaign and soem of the challenge levels.

Will play shortly! I will bind aiming down sigh and shooting to r1 and l1 respectively, so should also be fun to play untill I get these face buttons improved. XD

I just used PS3 mode and set the controls in the settings menu (I'm using Pocket Rally Lite) to Generic Gamepad then mapped them by touching the screen. Didn't have to do anything special, it just worked straight away.

I'll have to give the first Dead Effect another go, I played it quite a bit when it first came out but for some reason I remember not being able to play it with proper controls. Maybe I confused it with something else or they added support in later.

Pretty much exactly the same as the old one only without that annoying bug! I actually thought twice about returning it but I'm glad I did now, the old one would have cost me ?184 including the DHL import bill (a crazy ?44) but this one is ?127 with no customs VAT or duty to pay (still arrived in about 10 days) so even if GPD don't refund me the return shipping I've still saved a lot of money.

They've been a bit dodgy about the return shipping they promised to cover so not holding out any hopes, I'll post a summary of my dealings with them when I get time.

This looks like a really good interface for Amiga games - how easy is it to set up WHDLoad?  I have no experience with Amiga on Android (and won't until Xmas :D ) but I've used WinUAE for many years, never used WHDs though I've stuck with individual disk images.

For clarity, the frontend is a native application that is designed to run on an Amiga with kickstart 2.0+. I use an emulated A1200 with kick 3.1. It also works fine from a hard-disk directory as opposed to a HDF file (some alternatives such as TinyLauncher can only work using a HDF file). This makes setting it up easier on your PC in the first place. It is also all straightforward enough to setup in Uae4all2 under Android and runs great on the XD. The menu is controlled by the joypad/sticks and I have it automatically restarting after exiting a game, which can be achieved by setting up the QuitKey in the WHDLoad prefs. I use F10 for this and have mapped it in Uae4all2 to one of the XD shoulder buttons.

Once I finally get round to releasing the package, it will have a folder with all of the required Amiga file system objects. It will probably also contain the screenshots and data extracted from the somewhat unofficial GameBase Amiga 1.7 update by dax. I am also working on a simple windows app that allows you to build custom compilations by simply having the desired WHDLoad game packages in the designated games folder (obviously the games themselves won't be included).

WHDLoad itself is pretty easy to setup once you get the basics of where all the files go in the Amiga filesystem. However I would include all of the required WHDLoad files in the package, minus the WHDLoad license and the various Amiga kickstart files. It is certainly quite a bit more convenient than using collections of ADFs anyway!  ;)

WOuld you still say they are better then most Chinese webshops tough? I mean they did refund the purchase money right? And quickly offered to take back the XD even tough the problem was very minor... from what I heard from geekbuying if you have a warranty claim you can just drop dead, even with a big problem...

Anyway I just tried/started dead effect 2. HOt damn. It looks gourgeous, has full controller support, and runs at solid stable framerate with everything set to Extreme. Warms up the XD A bit, but nothing too serious and runs great. And again, the playstore is filled with bug reports of the game crashing, not loading, lagging like hell etc. on such inferior brands as samsung and HTC and others... that's also starting to become a theme (remember the newest fifa game?): " games which don't run or lag horrible on flagship devices but work like a charm on this Chinese thing" XD

They are much better, their customer service replies quickly (considering the time difference) and the support through AliExpress is comprehensive. In fact today I got a message from them asking me to start a partial refund claim on the replacement XD to cover return shipping, strange way of doing things but maybe it's the easiest way for them to go through AliExpress. Looks like I'll be getting the return postage covered after all which is great, took a while but worth it! I actually paid an extra ?7 for insurance but I don't mind covering that myself.

So yeah I would say the AliExpress/GPD combination is a pretty safe way to buy from China. Like I said in another thread normally I wouldn't have returned it for such a minor fault but the total price would have been ?184 (my G5A was about ?60) so for that amount I wanted it to be perfect. I guess I was lucky the replacement was on sale and there was no import bill, saved me a ton (?57/$85) of money! Buying it in the UK would have been ?73/$109 more than I ended up paying.

It's a pretty impressive game, I was showing it to a guy at work (the XD goes everywhere with me!) and he thought it was amazing. I wish The Shadow Sun supported controls natively, that's also a great looking game. Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Buttata also supports controls btw, that's a pretty nice game.
