A custom rom don't fix bugged gpu libraries because they are close source by powerVR. Onl thing could be done is ti take them from another device that use the same chipset but different (older or newer) drivers and see if it improves it.

@votemarvel, the only emu that is broken is Yaba Sanshiro for sega saturn. It shoes bad graphics with gx6250. Works fine with other PVR devices though, like my old redmi note 2 phone with a ge6200

It's not only about power, it's about the best gaming experience, performance, clean and stable. It's common sense around here that everyone greatly enjoy the legacy rom more than stock. You're a seller so obviously you wouldn't endorse it.

well yes and no tiago. Skelton and other devs have said that overclocking will not be a big improvement and may even lead to overheating. The GPDs always seem to lack a good cooling system. What the XD+ needs is better driver and unfortunately a new firmware will not help unless drivers get switched out.

What I am working on now is a repacked rom that will have root and it will be debloated. So without a full new custom rom, this is probably the next best thing.

I would and always have been endorsing a new type of LegacyROM+ or w/e it will eventually be called... I'm an avid gamer & know an incredible amount about GPD products/settings/uses that they have, etc.

Yesterday fast tech delivered my GPD XD Plus (DHL express came out free pretty much because of a coupon on fast tech) and I love it thus far. I think I notice the screen refresh issue once but it hasn?t bothered me because I haven?t noticed since. emus are amazing and tomb raider I and II on android run phenomenally. Dead Trigger 2 just some hickups but that game rarely runs at 60fpss on any device ive had lol

The WiFi 5G is fantastic, and I haven?t tried Bluetooth yet but I?ve heard good things. I think nacidos shield portable has found its equal (in power actually it has a lot more than the shield)

Well, after playing on my XD+ for awhile, I find that my d-pad is really bad - can?t pick a straight right, left, up or down to save my life. A simple game of Pac-Man is a study in frustration.

Anyone else? Do I need to take it apart? Really didn?t want to do that...

get an exchange OR research users that MAY be able to assist with installing a new Dpad altogether like superfenix2000, etc.

Well, sending it back to China is not first on my list.  ;) it seems to me the membrane might be misaligned, or the d-pad improperly seated. Looking at how the XD and XD+ come apart, however, it?s the very last thing you get to after taking the entire thing apart, and de-connecting almost every cable - Blech - It?s like working on my car...

Just wondered if others were having trouble, or if it was just me. That?s the first thing on my list. Then I?ll be able to decide what needs to be done from there. My original XD d-pad was just fine, albeit a bit low (flush) in the case - this one protrudes more than the original - but it may actually be a bit TOO much, leading me to wonder if I need to get in there and tinker.

In my proto dpad IS good, so probably a membrane issue, or dpad in bad position

Agreed... could just be misplaced or in a bad position as Skelton mentioned. Again, and i know its unfortunate, but you COULD ask for an exchange OR simply a refund.

Best option? Get a refund, buy from another seller & IF it happens again... possibly look into speaking with SUPERFENIX2000 user on this forum... he mods devices such as these.

 ;)

Sadly it was Saturn emulation I was enjoying the most. I'm playing through Panzer Dragoon Saga for the first time and it is amazing. Without proper Saturn support the XD+ is just going to remain in the box for now.
