Found out why the plastic was bending slightly at the right trigger - there are no screws holding it together! Looks like GPD thought plastic retaining clips would do a good enough job but obviously with the painted ones they need some help from screws. Had a root in my parts box and put a spare DS screw in each corner where the triggers are and this has sorted it.

Weird oversight but sorted in 1 minute. I think it was just the strain of the hinge which was causing the plastic to slightly flex, there's nothing pushing against the plastic so screwing it down should cause no problems.

It looks much better in the flesh as my phone camera flash makes it look quite gaudy, it's a deeper red colour than the picture. It cost ?140 with DHL shipping although I didn't use the coupon which would have knocked ?6.71 off. It's more than I'd usually pay but I like a lot of storage.

This must of been an early batch problem as I have bought mine recently and I love the dpad, maybe im just mushy mad.

Well mine isn't particularly clicky, it's quite soft but very precise. The only thing taking time to adjust to is the face buttons as for me they are a little off from where my right thumb falls. Not uncomfortable but means I sometimes press the wrong button, I suppose it won't take long to get used to it.

My hinge does creak a bit when, a little when I open it to the 2nd locked position (the most common one) and a bit more at 180 degrees (which I never use) so no biggie. I'm glad that the hinge is solid and can put up with a tiny creaking noise. There are no whining sounds on mine either and everything seems really well put together, well once I'd put two screws in the empty holes that is!

It's the first Android console I've had which is built to such a standard, I'm liking it a lot so far.

There has never been a problem really. The dpad on mine (very early) is incredibly accurate, and very easy to use, and responds really fast. People would just prefer a less mushy dpad and more importantly, a bit more less deep down recessed in the plastic.

but it has always worked very well.

I have a few questions about the different GPD XD models...

-Looking at them, are there any differences besides color and internal storage (16gb, 32gb, 64gb)...? Couldn't I just buy an sd card for the black 16gb model and it would be the exact same as the more expensive model? Or are there differences in specs?

-Any suggestions on the best place to buy one? I know WiiGoo, GeekBuying, and AliExpress (GPD store) have them, any differences between the quality of the product or shopping experience?

If you want it for emulation and small Android games then the 16gb will be fine as you can put ISOs and roms on an SD. However if you want to play bigger Android games then I would say get the 32gb at least. Modern Combat, GTA etc can be 1-2gb each so your internal storage quickly fills up and there's no built in storage swap like on older GPD consoles. The high res version of Bard's Tale is about 3.5gb for instance.

can someone get me a screen shot of the storage. It is a no go if it as Shared Memory for me.

I tried to buy the 64GB GPD XD, but the official shops are telling me it's out of stock right now for both 64GB and 32GB models.
Does anyone know where to get it, if possible with a buyer protection system like on Aliexpress ?
