Hello, I bought a GPDXD plus and I hate the default firmware and all the bloated crap they installed.
I looked at installing cleanrom but having looked at a guide, it looks very VERY long winded and complex to install and I'm really scared of messing up.
I have installed custom firmware before in other devices so I'm not utterly a newbie but cleanrom looks way too long winded to do. I mean one guide listed like 99 steps. 99?! that's absurd.
So my question, is there any alternative that is easier to install than cleanrom? if not, I guess I'll be refunding my device as I don't want to use the installed software, it's awful.
Thank you

is there a way to do a simple stock android install? I really don't want to return this but coolrom is just so long and so many chances to screw up and brick it that I'm not even going to try.

Stock roms and CleanROM are installed the same way;

Only difference is the name of the scatter file (the txt file) but everything else is the same for stock or clean ROM.

..edit.. fixed it.

Hello, well I gritted my teeth and went ahead with the cleanrom install. it mostly seems to have gone ok.
I say mostly as I'm now on the "Finish up Cleanrom install" section and where it says 'pull down the status bar and select the sdcard notification'. I don't have one.
But it seems to boot up okay. am I fine leaving it like this? or must I find some way of doing the last steps?
Thanks

That is to select if you want your sdcard as portable or adaptive storage, but if you are not using an sdcard then it's ok. When you put an sdcard you Will have that choice.

Thank you, is it safe to skip the remaining 'tidying up' steps then?

Yep. You can use it as it is.

Thank you very much for your help! its very appreciated.
