GPD XD having issues with brightness control

I turned my original gpd xd on today but the brightness is very low.  I will go into settings to the slider but it does nothing.  I can turn it all the way up and it changes nothing.  AUTO is greyed out so im assuming it is not enabled.  Is there a fix for this or should i re install legacyrom?

My suggestion would be to re-flash LegacyROM from scratch, yes.

If reflash or reboot don't help this could mean there's a issue with the ribbon that connects the screen and motherboard.
