Nice vids :)
Are those with the stock emulators? If not how do the stock emulators (HappyChick app) compare?
Looking forward to your review and my own G7.

no, i?m using a skeltom rom, without any stock emulator.

all emulators i use, are donwloaded and installed directly from google playstore except N64oid, that i downloaded from slideme.org

and no, i don?t use happychick, and i advice to avoid using this, because this program only download warez, and most android games are not necessary optimal for the device where you?re downloading.

i strong suggest to uses googleplay versions of all, programs, emulators, games, etc.
for psp, use ppsspp (free version)
for n64, use mupen64 (free)
for psp, mame, etc, etc. use Retroarch (Free)
for mame 0.139 i using Mame4All Reloaded. (Free)
for NDS, use Drastic (there is a demo version)
for Dreamcast, use Reicast (free)

for most important systems, i think you may pay for Drastic, N64Oid (if you prefer than Mupen64) and may be ePSXe or FPSe for PSX (if you don?t want to use retroarch). all other are free, or have free versions.

note: stock and skelton, firmware don?t have happychick.

I found a seller, the  price is very low.     Could  you  recommend a lower one?                                                                                     http://www.mcbub.com/item/GPD-G7-RK3188-1-6GHz-7-inch-GamePad-Android-Game-Tablet-Android-Game-Console-Handheld-Console-Game-Console-Player-Android-4-2-Quad-Core-Capacitive-Touch-Screen-1024-600-1GB-8GB-Tablet-PC-161870/

Sorry for pushing it up again, but it's really fascinating to watch this thread :)
From the first pictures and anticipations of the people on the board here about the  GPD G7 and the final realization.

And now we hold this awesome machine in our hands, and it's dirt cheap  ($108 at Aliexpress.com, last time I checked, with free shipping, I paid a [tiny] bit more).

I think price-wise the G7 is the best device available. It's even got updates and some communication from the producer GPD, which is more than most devices on aliexpress / from China can say.

The Russian interview I read seemed to emphasize, that they really want input of the community and they send prototypes to the customers and fans to help them. They also take into consideration feedback they get.

I hope they keep up the good work.

I mean, where else do you get such a fast quad core with 1 gb ram, a pretty nice (ok, it's standard though, but it works fine) graphics chip and 8gb  internal SD plus all the delivered software.

The only thing bad about it is the missing bluetooth or SIM card support. But hey, you can use a dongle. I have an OTG USB cable, my gamepad works properly, the USB stick (any filesystem, even up to ext4) works perfectly.

Didn't get my $3 Ethernet adapter to work, but might be an error by mself. WIll start up the console and dmesg the shit out of that adapter. :D

And I have an USB hub (without power support) on the G7 so I can put on multiple devices (not much, though, 500mA only gets you that far...)

The G7 really over excelled all my expectations, seriously.
The only real problem I have with it is the cheap buttons. The analog sticks can easily get broken, it seems.

Well, I stood on it. My fault. I bought a 2nd one, though. It was well worth the price and now I have spare parts for the future. So far the machine holds up pretty well.

I also use it to develop games for Android. It's an excellent machien for that, I can even work native (I use the Pygame subset for Android, which converts Python to Java and creates an unsigned and a signed apk package autoMAGICally :) )

What's your view on the G7?

Was it worth the price?

I really hold that device in high regards, as you might have noticed, and I recommended it to my friends, they were all quite impressed and some already bought ne.

The G7 is my first Android tablet (gaming or otherwise). I had been keeping an eye on the previous devices, but the G7 was the first one to give me a sense of "want it, need it" with its combination cool design, great performance, and affordable price. I share the usual gripes (no Bluetooth, screen and button layout could be a little better), and I've also noticed the sound cuts out intermittently when using HDMI-out (might be just my unit, cable, or TV.. anyone else experienced this?).

One thing that really impressed me is the battery. After reading those horror stories about JXD devices (totally inaccurate battery meters, not charging properly, only giving 4 or less hours of game time), I was pleasantly surprised to find the G7 reports the battery charge sanely, charges pretty quickly, and holds its charge nearly as well as my 2DS and GCW Zero.
My machines:
GBC,GBA,GBA SP,NDS,NGPC,Panasonic FZ-10 3DO,NES,Sega Nomad,Sega CDX w/Power Base Converter,PS1,PS2,PS3,Saturn,Dreamcast,PC (Win 98, XP, 7),Dingoo A320,Dingoo A330,Gemei A330,LetCool N350JP,PAP-GAMETA,GCW-Zero SE,Kyocera Rise,2DS,GP2X-F100,GPD G7,JXD 100,JXD A1000,JXD A3300,JXD F3000,JXD V5000,JXD S7300B,Hyperkin SupaBoy

Currently playing: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call (2DS)

May i ask a question please.I am between GPd g7 and Jxd s7800b.I do not care about the ips screen.I only have one question.Does the 2GB of ram have huge different versus the 1 gb?Does it affects the gameplay so importantly?I read somewhere that it doesn't have so much difference

Hardware-wise, I think both consoles are almost identical (except for the screen, RAM and joysticks mechanism).
RAM is something good to have as much as possible, but currently I can't remember any Android game that requires 2 GB of RAM. For emulation, it doesn't matter if your device has 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM.

Not sure, but very unlikely. And you always can turn off your WiFi and reboot your system before run the game - most easier way for unsophisticated Android user to clean the memory of device.
Joysticks of G7 are significantly better than ones in S7800b. In fact, buttons of G7 are better as well.
