Hopefully people will search for a quality reliable seller to purchase their product. Do not be fooled by this misleading seller.

@dreamesper let's be realistic here, man. You did acquire a reputation here due due to the GCW0 Fiasco and you put yourself in a tight spot. People are legitimately skeptical.

So far, GPD has not made an official announcement for the XD+, they did not say "it's coming in XXX", they didn't say anything and all we know is that demo video for the alpha version on YouTube. We don't even know if there's any shell design changes or anything at all. You see where I'm coming from here?

@dreamesper and your proof is...?

C'mon, man. After the GCW0 fiasco, people do have a hard time trusting you with pre-orders. I am not trying to be a jerk, honestly. But I think I speak for many of the forum members when I say that maybe we need more insurance before making a purchase from you  :)

To be completely honest with you, I doubt that the folks here will be comfortable ordering from your store unless there's a solid proof that the units are in your possession. And with pre-orders, I'm not seeing anyone feeling confident enough to make a purchase.

Again, I am not trying to be a jerk. I'm just being realistic and honest.

At least he has been honest on the GPD XD +

I asked if it was legit

Here the answer Wade gave me:

xd plus预计是2月份正式上市,如果有我们的分销商 提前预售,这个属于正常销售行为,我们为什么要反对呢?

Translation :

Xd plus is expected to be formally listed in February, if our distributors to sale, this is a normal sales behavior, why should we oppose it?

P.s.: I never said to Wade that they shouldn't let you sale it, it's a misunderstanding.

He will never have units in his possession unless he uses your money to buy them first. Not sure why anyone would pay a seller for a product they do not yet have available and then wait for them to order it for you. You may as well order it yourself direct form a seller that actually has it in stock and will not charge you until they ship it to you. You will also get it much faster and the transaction is much safer. Even if a business does offer a preorder on an item, you do not charge your customer until the item actually ships if you are a legitimate and honest business.

I'm not really agree with that part "Even if a business does offer a preorder on an item, you do not charge your customer until the item actually ships if you are a legitimate and honest business."

Every reseller charges the customers in order to avoid the customer to suddenly changes his mind after the reseller order everything from the supplier, if not he is screwed because he cannot afford it and have to borrow money from the bank until he can get his money back by selling to someone else.

This always has been the deal with preorders.

People are allowed to cancel preorders, I am not sure where you get the idea that customers cannot cancel preorders from. That is ridiculous.

Where did I say they cannot? I'm saying it's common for reseller to ask people to pay for preorder to AVOID people to suddenly change their mind. Read carefully before jumping to conclusions.

My girlfriend use to do personal shopper for people, I can tell you that she won't pay any money from her pocket.

We are talking about a business selling products. There is always risk in sales whether you have preorders or stock that you sell to customers, there is always some returns and cancellations. That is part of doing business. In my personal life I buy almost everything online and I cannot even remember the last time I was charged for something before it shipped.   I also work as a Buyer for locations across North America buying millions of dollars worth of products per year and if someone ever charges me for a preorder or backorder I will call them and never pay for it. The company I work for would never charge a customer for a product before it is shipped as well. It is not a customers responsibility to insure a businesses product, it is the businesses responsibility, if they take a risk to preorder a product, that is their choice and risk, not the customers. If a customer is okay with being charged for a product before it ships that is another thing. I will not accept that though, especially when a seller cannot give a straight answer of when it can ship.

What is the minimum # of units for GPD to make you a supplier anyway?

And I'm agree with you when you are talking about company, to me it's a bit different with preorders from a reseller that is basically one guy. Of course he is responsible if he doesn't clearly say it before starting to sell.

My main point is you cannot expect the same service from a whole company and from one guy shop who isn't even a supplier but a reseller, and it's common for small resellers to make people pay for preorders (doesn't mean you won't be able to get your money back, but there will be some delay).

Here is the case of dreamesper,  the delay are too long, or there's not even delay since it seems some people never have been refunded.

Exactly. There's a lingering trust issue here. If 10 units is all it takes, heck, I'll get into the game myself and make some coffee money :D

Yes I understand. I would not expect one guy to be able to provide the service of a large company. If that is the case a person should be fully upfront with customers, tell them they will be charged upfront and if they are not sure of when it will ship, be honest about that as well. That was not the case with this seller.
