Does the GPD XD+ support some form of quick charge?
« on: September 15, 2019, 09:24:37 pm »
For a while now I've noticed that when charging my XD with a charger that supports quick charge it does actually charge faster, thou this does make the touch screen behave oddly when it is touched.
But recently I bought a power bank with a voltage and amperage meter, s and I've noticed that if I connect the XD+ to it's quick charge port it draws 9 volts at 1.5 amps, on a regular USB port it obviously draws 5 volts but at 0.7 amps.

Should I be worried about using the quick charge port? I do know that over voltage can shorten the lifespan of the battery.

 Did a little test, from 0% to 50% took 1h 5min at 9v 1.5amp
Once I drain the battery again I'll test it at 5v 2amp, but there's an interesting note after 60% charge the charging speed drops hugely on 9v to below 0.5amp and 5v below 1amp.
So overall 0% to 100% time could be similar.
1h with 5v 2amp  gets you to 35%, so 9v 1.5amp is definitely faster but only up to 60%

I think XD and XD+ both not support quick charge.
