If the app use some specific libraries from tegra, most probably is useless even with Gltools.

Je r?alise toutes les icones de LOGO des titres pour pas mal de jeux " mes favoris en particulier" mais
j'aimerais bien en faire un maximum .

Car m?me pour de futur launcher ou Frontend je prefere avoir les icones plutot q'une snap du jeu .

I'm using squarehome.tablet - would love to try ARC Browser by Floating Point, a gaming front-end like Gamesome and Hyperspin, but they are currenly focusing on Android TV. Politely wrote them asking if I could try on a portable device, and they politely told me no.

Another worthwhile front-end in the OUYA store is Nostalgia, which you can load via the OUYA loader in the app store, but you cant pay the dollar to unlock full functionality. The author is working on a Play Store general Android version, but his progress is VERY slow...

Has anyone experienced any lag with the HALauncher when using custom images for the background? IS there a certain file type and/or file size I should stick to?

Also, does anyone know how to create shortcut that launches an app within HAL?

Yep, I got exactly the same using custom backgrounds. That alone was enough to make me uninstall it. Not sure what is going on there. This is with the GPD Q9, so isn't specific to the XD it seems.

Yeah I hear ya. I love the design of HAL, not ready to give up yet. If I can figure out this shortcut issue, it will raise its value exponentially to me.

Made this, with transparent icons on top so that you can click the pictures of the console boxart to launch the emulator. all done with Lightning Launcher, a very customisable launcher that is worth a look.
