So often the case these days, sadly.  I think it's extremely poor business practice to expect customers to use FB to enter competitions (or even simply to contact the company for support) as some of us have no intention of joining it.

Hi,

Do you have any good suggestions? I will be very appreciated for that.

Facebook is fine if there's a chance I might get some shiny new tech for free. Aside from the retro game buy/sell pages it's the best use of FB I've heard of in ages!
Handhelds:
GPD Win, GPD XD 64gb, PlayGo, RS-90, 3DS XL, DSi XL, GBA SP, GBBC Clone, Gameboy Pocket c/w screen mod, PSP Go

Tons of other old laptops and tablets.....

More and more people are searching social media and using dedicated engines like Google less. An added bonus to facebook is that if I share something there is a good chance my friends are into the same kind of stuff that I am. It's really a marketing territory that is coming into its own.

Justin
Just this:  use your own website to engage with your customers, not someone else's.  By all means use social media (or indeed Dingoonity) to advertise your site and promote products, but don't assume that everyone who is interested in the things you sell, or needs customer service from you, has any desire to join Facebook, Twitter or whatever else people are using these days to let the world know what they had for breakfast.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a complete and utter geek who spends all his time on the internet, and I'm a member of several forums, but I just don't see the point of Facebook and it's frustrating when companies assume that everyone uses it.

Seriously, all you guys who dislike Facebook need to join it and find a local or national gaming buy/sell page. Cheaper than eBay prices and they're like a little community in themselves, the UK one is top. I got New Super Mario Bros DS cart for ?2.50 posted (the same guy sold a boxed one plus Mario Kart for ?3.50 each too), some serious bargains on there as well as rare stuff.

I've had to limit the amount of time I look as I end up spending too much money, it's like a year long Steam sale!

Well I suppose I may eventually succumb for reasons just like that, but if I do ever set up an account I'll make it as private as possible and I certainly won't be uploading any selfies to it!  :)

By the way, I feel I should apologise to Justin for derailing this thread.  I'm off to watch TV now...

I use it for posting pics of my daughter (so the missus can see what we're up to when she's at work!), buying and selling music stuff or games and gig promotions. All the Farmville and pointless updates are for other people, can't stand all that sh1t. In fact pretty much all I see on my news feed now are sale ads from the game trading sites so it's basically an alert system for stuff I might want to buy. Costs me a fortune though!
