Title: Blaze Tab G7 - Android Error Message on Boot
Post by: Villordsutch on January 02, 2020, 12:05:22 pm
Hello all,

Can anyone help me out here.  This morning, after not turning on my G7 for a good while, charged up my device and booted it up.  However, after it gets past the BLAZE logo, I'm hit with the Android Robot lay on their back with a red exclamation sticking out of their chest.

For the life of me I cannot find a key combination to get past this (I thought a drive reformat may help it) and I know before I boxed it away it was working perfectly.

Can anyone help me out here?

Cheers all.

It seems your device IS stucked on recovery Mode. You Will need to reinstall firmware from blaze tab from the pc.

I've hit an issue.  After you mentioned it was the firmware I went hunting and after no luck I took to FB and someone highlighted that the machine was rebranded to a GPD7a and pointed me towards the firmware here - https://chinagadgetsreviews.com/download-android-kitkat-4-4-4-stock-firmware-for-gpd-g7-gamepad-tablet-pc.html?fbclid=IwAR0QAxfxNf5dVcDSeTwHwfwj5Fd9vrSYWN_wUI7O2ezMZiLLCF2H41ZEQm4

However, attempting to install it I keep getting a failed message as seen in the screenshot.  I also attempted Restore as but this returned the same error.

Do you have any clue why this could be happening?

Probably a bad image or not compatible with g7a. (Maybe is for g7 model and not g7a). Does the blaze company has an image for your device?
Is your device detected on batch tool with a Green light before flashing? You can try with another micro USB cable and a USB 2.0 Port preferibly. I also would try batchtool 1.7 instead of 1.8. i sometimes found issues with batchtool 1.8.

I've swapped cables just in case (I had a new cable package so I opened that) also downloaded 1.7 too.

The connection was green - had to hold Power and V+ to connect - as before however on Restore (or Upgrade) I'm met with the same FAIL message.  I've looked at the BLAZE site and for the life of me I cannot seem to find any Firmware at all (you'd think they'd make it easier) for any devices.

I'm stumped.  I was hoping to find a reformat/factory settings command before boot (like with an Android phone) but so far I've found nothing like that.  All I can get it to do is BLAZE logo then straight to Android Error message if I don't connect via Batch Tool.

Well I've found the correct firmware at the GPD site here

http://gpd.hk/download

However it's still not working, which makes me wonder am I doing this right.

Launch Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7
Connect my Device via Power & V+ so box goes green
Select firmware = in this case G7 5.3.1.img
Click restore (though Upgrade returns the same message).

Here I'm met with a fail.
