at 14% it dies suddenly
« on: May 05, 2014, 04:58:57 pm »
Hi I was wandering if the is a usual problem with g5a? When my g5a gives me the usual 14% left must charge notification it just shuts down no longer the 10 seconds later. I'm using Skelton and tincore 1.0 4.2.2. I have already tried calibrating a few times. Other then that it works fine. Any clues?

I have had this couple of times. I guess it was deliberately implemented by Skelton.

It's a minor bug that I have not been able to fix yet. In JB is more frequent than in kitkat. In fact is just a misreport in the battery information, so consider that if you are under 14 percent it's practically ending its life. I have been trying to find a solution but couldn'tfinde it yet.

Any news for this minor bug Skelton? I'm using Kitkat legacy rom. The android only gives me a warning once and then after a few seconds it shut downs too fast. I've read in another sites that when the device completely discharge it harms the battery health and capacity. If this can't be fixed do you think that would be possible to change the low battery warning for a higher value like 20% for example?

I haven't found a solution for it, not sure yet if it's kernel related or not. It's a misreport in Android reading the percentage. If I find a proper solution I'll make it of course, but I am currently with q88S and g58 roms with practically no free time to develop too much,

No problem Skelton, as i said, this is a minor bug. I hope that eventually you find a fix for it.

I ran my battery down to 6% today on the JB 4.2 2 rom.  It did not shut down at 14%, so it must not happen every time.  I am running the overclock kernel.
