Well geekbuying just told me they have the 16 gbs now, will be sent out these week because they test them all to see if they work before shipping. (GOOD! it better works lol after al this waiting)

Me too, but i am happy they test them first! This also explains why gamepad tester was preinstalled on my q9 and there was activity before it reached me (app wifi usage gave it away) XD

My gpd g5a from willgoo arrived with one defect button...

But maybe they only tested it superficially, or forgot it once...

They test hundreds upon hundreds of devices that are lined up for shipping....they do it until midnight or sometimes until 2 in the morning, so they're bound to be a bit tired, thus miss things here and there.

If they're switched on for testing before a full battery charge wouldn't that affect the integrity of the batteries?

Only if the devices have been shipped out of the factory with an empty battery - a practice that should've been abolished by now.

On the same topic, it's recommended you drain your battery on the first use before charging it. Doing so will allow the device to get a more accurate reading on the minimum voltage for operation.

I don't, arent lith-ion most stable and least like to catch fiery death during transport when around half full?

Anyway, the manual for my Q9 clearly stated I had to charge for 6 hours before first use. Not doing that because I didn't want to wait has cost me about an hour of battery life. 3-4 hours instead of 4-5.

I ordered from geek buying, the 32gb blue model and have not heard any update yet. I emailed them but I've not gotten a response.

Originally I ordered the 32GB black from Geekbuying but realized not long ago that it doesn't exist. So once I heard they have started to ship the first batches of the 16GB black I messaged their order support team to change mine to the 16GB model and refund the difference in cost of $20. My order has now been marked as shipped with DHL express. Should arrive to Australia in 3-5 business days.
