So, i've been thinking about getting the gpd xd, but I see it has no bluetooth support. This is a big problem for me because I use bluetooth controllers when i've got my systems hooked up to my tv, and I use it for multiplayer emulation.Would there be a way to add bluetooth to it? Be it modifying the chip, plugging a microusb dongle in or anything. I just know that with android adding bluetooth support ends up being a real mess without any help, so if anyone has any ideas on how it can be added i'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

you cannot use bluetooth dongle.

for remote controllers, you can use solutions such Tonrmart Mars G01.
For bluetooth audio, now i'm using a Bluetooth Transmitter TaoTronics TT-BA01, and for me is a great solution for devices without bluetooth module.



(note: i stick the device back to the Q9, using 3m command hanging strips)

with this combo (audio transmitter and game controller), i'm solving most of cases of bluetooth usage, on devices without bluetooth.

My biggest issue then is the multiplayer. My friend is also buying one, and we would like to be able to play multiplayer emulators, but the ones we use right now have multiplayer over bluetooth only. What recommendations do you have for connecting games like pokemon? (I say that because I know I could just get a second controller for like console games, but for handhelds it's a different story)

Uhm, the build in snes, arcade, and some other emuators support multiplayer over same wifi network. For gba,myboy free from play store does so too :-)

Hi guys,
I know it's not possible to add bluetooth functions to our GPD XD, but I found a method to add Dualshock 3, Dualshock 4 and Wii U Pro controllers to work wirelessly with the GPD.
For this, you need to get this device from 8bit do:

And you need to add a generic SNES to USB adapter.

And of course an OTG cable.

1- Connect the OTG adapter to the GPD.
2- Connect the SNES to USB adapter to the OTG adapter.
3- Connect the 8bitdo receiver to the SNES to USB adapter.
4- Pair your controller with the 8bitdo adapter

And that's it. Now I can play games on my GPD XD using a Dualshock 4.

Won't it be easier to get a OTG cable, multi USB hub and 2.4 GHz wireless controllers (come with USB wireless dongle)?

Or OTG cable, multi USB hub, long USB cables (USB to micro USB) & bluetooth controllers.
