8BitDo Receiver - Bluetooth for gpd xd, who needs it!!!
« on: November 28, 2017, 01:59:13 am »
Ok so thanks go to jackal27!

Original thread :
https://boards.dingoonity.org/gpd-android-devices/your-multiplayer-controller-solution-(issues-w-mayflash-gamecube-adapter)/

So I bought this controller a while back for my 4yo son, so he can play some emus on his tablet.

Then later on jackal27 had mentioned that a dongle could make it work for the gpd xd. So I bought it and tried it out.

I highly recommend this dongle to everyone that either connects their gpd to tv to play, or just need multicontroller support.

The tiny 8bitdo controller worked perfectly with the gpd xd. But I was curious as to all of the controllers it supported. So I had some ps3 controllers I wanted to try out. THEY WORKED!

So the one downside is that you need one dongle per controller, but the benefits are crazy. Not to mention it is only 13 USD : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076B995TL .

So if you have:
ps3,
 ps4,
 wii,
wiiU,
NinSwitch,
or
8bitdo controllers

and want to use them on your gpd xd, just get this dongle!

I have tested that lil 8BitDo controller and ps3, so those are verified by me. I don't see any problems connecting the other controllers.

So I'm assuming you connect the bluetooth with a micro usb to the XD?

I managed to connect my 2 8Bitdo gamepads to GPD XD wirelessly using my 2 NES retro receivers as well. 1 retro receiver per gamepad. Thanks for the info and so happy about it. You will need to connect GPD XD to OTG cable to USB to micro USB cable to 8Bitdo retro receiver. Press & hold the sync button on the retro receiver for 2 seconds and release. Power on the gamepad and it should connect wirelessly, if it doesnt connect, press & hold start button on the gamepad for 12 seconds to reset and try again.

No this is why this is a cool find. Normally you can not connect a bluetooth dongle to gpd xd. This dongle is a bluetooth receiver but its built into the dongle and just acts like a connected controller. So it is and it isnt a bluetooth receiver. I know it sounds confusing but this dongle is perfect for the xd.

So like konpia pointed out: You connect an OTG cable to the back in the micro USB slot, then you connect the dongle, or you connect to a usb hub and connect multiple dongles for multiplayer like so:

You could use a Gamesir 3GS as its Bluetooth and wireless comes with a dongle for 2.4Ghz
