Wanted to Buy: Gemei A330
« on: December 14, 2015, 01:53:42 am »
I'm interested in buying a Gemei A330. Anyone selling one?
Needs to be in good working condition or preferably new.
Can pay with Paypal.

Will go to a good home - I want to port Dingoo A320's MAME4ALL to it.
Thanks!

Wow, it would be great a release like that. I suppose you are very familiar with MAME to attemp something like that. However, even though the GEMEI is more powerful than the 320 /330 Dingoos, MAME would be very limited in this device.

My wet dream is that some crazy developer ports Temper to the GEMEI. It runs perfectly even in the dingoo native OS, and it would open this console to many many masterpieces running without compromises.

This console is great, I hope you get your hands on one as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I cannot depart with mine :)

If you manage to get ahold of one (I'm not selling mine :P), and if you want to use dingoo-sdk, gemei a330 support is almost there. I have an unpublished version that should work apart from c++ support, so just post here or send a message if so.

I only found this site selling units:

https://www.digitopz.com/gemei-a330-game-station-30lcd-mp4-media-player-with-tvout-white-4gbus-edition-p-560.html

Are these genuine and brand new sealed units? The Gemei has been discontinued for a few years now but this site seems to have a lot of stock and what does "US edition" mean.

It also seems quite expensive but I would still buy if it was authentic and unopened sealed box but I'm not sure if it's been used/refurbished :-\

I'm interested in your gemei a330 SDK.

Can I ask you exactly what toolchain you are using?

I assume it's working for the native OS like the dingoo a320?

Hi Slaanesh,

Nice to hear from you. What's the current progress on mame? Are you still on with new GP2X and gcw zero versions?

Yes I've done a lot of work on MAME4ALL and on XMAME.
I have MAME4ALL versions for GP2X, Wiz, Dingoo A320, A380, Nanonote, GCW-0 and Pandora.
And XMAME versions for GCW0 and Pandora.
MAME4ALL is now very mature - I've updated almost *everything*, CPU emulation, sound emulation, 90% of drivers plus a large number of new games to play.
Most games run as if running from a much later version of MAME though still as the same fast speed as the original MAME4ALL. Some of this attention-to-detail may not be noticed by casual gamers however it's been fun making games work on the relatively slow hardware for today's standard.

I wanted to add Gemei A330 to the list - hoping to get this sorted out.

EDIT: Oh yes and MAME4ALL for the Zipit Z2.

That's great news and many thanks for your efforts and hard work for mame on these retro handhelds, especially for the older systems as they are not supported anymore.

When will the mame emus be ready for release?
