Unbricker, v1.1 updates, etc, questions...
« on: January 21, 2011, 10:40:09 pm »
I have a few questions for those willing to help out!

The GA330 does not have an unbricker, correct? If it does would someone kindly link me to it.

To update to v1.1 firmware do the following?
    Updating instructions:
     • Extract the contents of the archive to your local harddrive
     • Connect the GA330 to your computer using the included mini-USB cable
     • Place the A330.HXF file into the internal 4 GB ROOT directory
     • Disconnect the USB cable and turn off the Dingoo A330
     • Turn on the GA330 and it should immediately start the update process. If the update does not start trt holding SELECT + START while powering up the unit to force the update process.
     • After the update is complete, navigate to the last menu option and then arrow down to the 12th line and press right. From this menu select “English”

I want to also double check that the force firmware update is holding SELECT + START and not pressing DOWN when you power up the unit the way the Dingoo did it?

v1.1 is required for the SNES emulator?

after updating to v1.1 the .CC extensions need to be renamed to .C3S?

Could someone link me to the official v1.0 firmware that comes preinstalled on the GA330?

    Cheers!

The Official release 1.1 firmware does away with the .C3S extension. Native Games have to have .CC extension again and are launched through Application in the menu.

At the risk of sounding like a n00b, I have to ask. What is an unbricker and what, exactly does it do? I really have no idea.

In my word, to unbrick is when you make a mistake (bad firmware update or else) and your handheld console don't want to work like before ... you got to unbrick it ... (make it work like before)
The non-working console looks like a bricks ... no use for it like a brick.

Thanks. I will be sure to get myself an unbricker as soon as it becomes available. Just in case.
