I wrote an article, of jornalistic nature, about the history of the Gemei A330 for Dingoo Brasil's site. If you want to take a look on this article, click here: http://www.dingoobr.com/?p=3569

P.S.: I have a translated version of this article, if I'm not wrong, into english. If you want I can send, via email, this translation, ok?

I wouldn't mind having a read of the English translation if you could link it? Cheers!

Sure! :)

Apologize me for grammar, typo errors or any kind of mistake on this text. Here it is:

Quote
Hey comrades,

no... this is not a new model from Gemei. Simply, we're talking about the A330! Relax comrades, I'm not drunken. I'll explain for you about this.

Around 2008, according to what I could ascertain, the first rumors about a possible new portable console from Gemei have emerged. These rumors gained his momentum last year, when the Dingoo A320, one of the handhelds of the chinese brand, conquered its space in the world of gaming.

But even so, nobody was sure if this possible new console was a real thing or simply a marketing coup of Gemei. Anyway, by this time, and later times, more and more information about this console came, by a intense way. Due for these information we could knew more about their possible capabilities, of it's forms... and even his name, despite the lack of confirmation that hovered at the time. The name appointed for this new console was... Gemei A330.

Currently, we are at the end of 2010. Practically, more than one year has passed since these rumors have taken account not only of the scene, but also the imagination of the Dingoo fans. The Gemei A330, which was once seen as a mere rumor, it is now a reality. Their release occurred during this first week of November.

What probably nobody knows is that, in 2009, more precisely by the end of August, a video from the Gemei HD7200 being tested was published. No, no I'm not wrong, comrades, the machine was called by this way!

At this time, the machine had two other names: HD7200 and HD8800, and of course the name A330. These first two names, at that time, were often used to refer to the A330, especially the HD7200 name. These two extra names were simply suggestions that Gemei had, at the time, to call their new possible product. In the end, the name "A330" was chosen.

In this rare record, that I am publishing here on DingooBR, we can see an A330 (HD7200, in this case) apparently much simpler. In a first moment, and throughout the video, we note that the game used in the test is the classic Contra, from NES. Do not you see, for example, the mark "Gemei" or the name of the console printed on the handheld. The machine appeared to have an opaque paint and even the buttons seemed a little different. The guy, who tests the A330 in the video, at some point of the video, shows other details of the device. Anyway, for who is a fan of the brand and of it's products (mainly from the portable consoles), watch this video is something that is worth it!

And after much talk... and talk... and talk and talk, hehe, here it is the video:

GemeiTech came up second on Google every time I looked, but you should know that it was only a joke. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I am grateful about what you're doing for the wiki, someone needs to do it and I could never get around to making too many pages.
