"New" pics of the Gemei A330
« on: October 28, 2009, 07:04:10 pm »
Not really new pics, they were published in September. Didn?t see those yet thought, so i though i?d share them with you:

Here are nine more pics:
http://www.jiongtang.com/blog/html/mp4/gemei-a330-game-station.html

Hrmmm, dunno what to think about this device. L/R buttons are nice, just like the connectors on top (out of finger-range ^^ ). But it?s a bit too round for me. And i?m still not sure if the cc1600 (with it?s HD-decoding abilities "officially" comparable to a celeron 1600 mhz, hence the name) can keep up with the good ol? jz4740.
Any other views are welcome. :)

Is there anymore info on this? Such as full system specs or a release date?

The most important thing for me is if the screen is a real 320x240 one.

And this thread on gp32x has some interesting talking about cc1600 vs jz4740 in it (basically arm vs mips).

I think, the A 330 will only succeed if it?s more powerful than the Dingoo and if they open it. Why should i buy a device with the same emulators but not the ability to put Linux/develop some homebrew on it (not that I could do that, just sayin?)?

The official model number of A330 has been changed to 7200, and,
7200 is already a dead deal, Gemei's new products (8800 and 7200) are always on the ads, but never in the markets.

Here's a picture from the GP32X forum thread

Apparently, the A330 can emulate the N64, Sega Saturn, and CPS3. What a system!   ;)

Can anyone translate the rest of the text?

They better release info soon before I go out and get a Wiz. Though the Wiz is probably still going to be better than the A330, there's a chance that the A330 might fufill my needs better than a Wiz.

Doesn't matter if it's powerful or not too much powerful, as long as it is cheap, emulates consoles, and do other stuff (and hopefully another Linux port.) it's cool to me.

Those pictures are awing, by the way  :o

Actually, in my opinion the thing looks horrible :P It's too round.

I really like the sleek design of the A320. If they just keep about the same design (maybe changing the shoulder buttons, even though I like them a bit clicky) and add extra features, I'd probably be in for a buy in a year or two. If my A320 lives that long, that is :P

Dingoo Digital are not stupid. I'm sure they'll take advantage of the success of the A320 in some way in the future, apart from just continuing to sell A320.

Yes a lanyard hole seems to be standard on many portable devices nowadays.
Seems strange to NOT see one on the A320.
