Just wanted to report that Snatchers runs pretty well on picodrive. There are only a couple sprite issues I've found so far, but everything else seems to run nicely.  8)

They run great for me, as well as Shining Force CD, Flashback and Out of this World... Lunar: The Silver Star does not, but Lunar: Eternal Blue runs well.

Has anyone been able to get the MP3 audio to work?  I have Popful Mail running but there is no intro audio, etc.  Is there an MP3 library I need or something?

The newer versions of picodrive dropped support for mp3. BTW version 1.90 has been released. I will be doing a video of it soon. It supports sms/gg/genesis/cd and 32x. 32x is still to slow though

Yes, mp3 is not supported in new versions. But CD Audio is supported, so you can use a rom in bin/cue format to get working audio.

Does it work as well as mp3/iso?  I've never had much luck with cd audio in bin/cue format with sega cd.

Yes, it works well, as long as the filenames inside the cue file are correct (case sensitive).

I have found some games in bin/cue format in which, while the filenames are "gamename.bin/cue", the file name inside the CUE file (you can edit it with a text editor) is "GAMENAME.BIN" (with caps). In that case, you must edit the names or the content of the CUE file, so the filename referenced in the CUE file matches exactly with the filename of the BIN file.

Of course, you must select the CUE file when loading the game for the CD audio to work. If you select the BIN file, CD audio will not play.

The PicoDrive version I have has an option to enable CDDA via MP3 so I don't think that's my issue.  I think having the ISO and MP3s sitting in a zip file is my issue.  Testing that shortly.

Edit:  Yup, the zip file was the problem.  When the ISO and MP3s are in a directory the "CDDA" sound works.

Picodrive 1.35 (GCW build) supports ISO/MP3.

But GCW builds of picodrive 1.85 and 1.90 do not support MP3. Even if they still have the option in the menu, that option does nothing.

Is there a reason that 1.85 and 1.90 are better than 1.35 that makes it worth switching?  Is the emulation better?  It's seems great using 1.35.
