Regarding ReGBA playing some roms....
« on: March 14, 2014, 09:48:24 am »
I guess some of them are not playable right? Like I try playing Digimon Battle Spirits on there, and some of the sound effects are lower than the others, such as the attack sounds and the sounds from getting hurt from attacks.

Also when I tried playing Hamtaro Ham-Ham games, the sky becomes completely light blue, the character and building models become a lot lighter in color, and the rest are also light blue. This sometimes changes colors, but overall it becomes unplayable soon after.

So is there a list or something that lets me know which are fully playable or not beforehand? Sorry if this is asking too much. I really love the emulator and I truly thank the one who made this for taking the time in making this.

A tentative compatibility list can be found at http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/TempGBA_Compatibility .

It's not on the GCW Zero Wiki due to no one having made such a list yet, however ReGBA is based on TempGBA for the Supercard DSTwo on the Nintendo DS and people on GBATemp have compiled this list.

Some games will have "slow" next to them - none are slow on the GCW Zero, with the exception of Payback. However, watch out for lines that are red (unplayable due to a crash) or blue (glitches).

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.

I had the exact problem with Digimon Battle Spirits 2. How unfortunate. Oh well.

Sonic Advance 3 has this "special effect" (as VBA calls it) during the zone call-outs, while entering the Big Ring in the beginning of area maps. These are missing in ReGBA. Also, upon completing some Acts (at least levels 1-2 and 1-3 in the European version), the entire screen is white. The former affects the US version as well.

Does anyone know if there is a problem with Double Dragon Advanced? It works fine on PC emulator but it doesn't pass the initial screen on GCW Zero.

I think I've tried this game and i believe it did work for me.
Have you tried different releases or different sources?

Yeah I did, I had two roms here and both stop at the same time right after the Normmatt logo (it blinks and stays there) ReGBA Version 1.45

Other Games that don't work are:

Teen Titans - Glitchy graphics
Teen Titans 2 - Same
ROM Game_Name = DOUBLEDRAGON game_code= BDDE vender_code=EB

As I wrote here, you can try to use the official GBA bios! ;)

Thank you Gab1975, but it did not work, I still see nothing past the Gameboy Logo for Double Dragon, Teen Titans 1 and 2 I think they are not compatible, because it runs but with a lot of graphics glitches. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Did you try ROMs with a different "region code" ? I tested Double Dragon Advance (jap) and it works...

Double Dragon Advance (USA) works fine for me with the real BIOS in version 1.45.5.
