Problem with PicoDrive emulating 32X
« on: December 24, 2015, 09:11:12 pm »

Hy

I`m new here and i hope there is not actually a thread about this topic!
I tried to start a Sega 32X Game which should work with PicoDrive.
I?m talking about Black Thorne btw

But when the game starts the framerate drops completely down and it?s not playable!
This is the only 32X - Game i tried so far, but I was hoping, this is a known issue and you guys have an Idea how to fix this problem!
Maybe I just have to change some settings!

Im not very deep into emulating and stuff, so pls keep your answer as simple as possible ;)

Sry, for my bad english btw, it?s not my mother tongue

You can try Genesis Plus GX emulator.

The 32x code is not optimised for the processor on the gcw0 and so performs very poorly. At this time it is the only 32x emulator on the gcw0.

32x is a possibility in future on Genesis plus GX but at the moment it is not implemented.

Can't wait, though! Thanks for all of your hard work David!

Thank you guys for the reply!

It?s pretty sad that the 32X Emulation did not work "fine" !
Especially in the case of "BLACKTHORNE" !
Only the Sega Version is Uncut, and the DOS Version did not start!

Just to know, so the CGW0 (Hardware) IS able , or better, would be able to play 32x titles, just the actual Emulator is the problem?
So maybe in the Future this problem will be solved?

That would be awesome!

I downloaded the Genesis Plus GX but what I know it?s just for Sega CD!

THX so far

No, I don't believe the gcw0 will be able to run 32x full speed. The extra emulation overhead cripples performance.

I have spent some time recently improving the speed of Genesis plus GX without compromising accuracy and it still cannot run Virtua racing (md/gen version) at full speed without frameskip and/or a reduction in accuracy. 32x emulation requires considerably more processor overhead.

Does this mean we might also never have a full speed/working version of PlayStation one emulation?
