N64/PSX emulation?
« on: March 17, 2013, 04:12:56 pm »
I've been looking around for any solid information on N64/PSX emulators or the development of emulators and I haven't found anything. Anyone know any facts about it or if the Zero can even handle it? This is the one thing that's stopped me from saving for one already.

The Zero can handle at least PSX. N64 emulator does not exist, the PSX emulator is early in developement and not ready for a release.

Yes, I believe sooner or later we'll have an N64 emulator. It just needs a devoted developer with the knowledge of both systems' architectures (GCW and N64).

Talking about PSX emulation overall, is it worth getting GCW Zero for Playstation emulation? Will it be able to run games like Metal Gear Solid, Quake 2, Crash Bandicoot?

It's too early to be certain, the specs and hardware seem more than capable of doing PSX emulation but how good it will be is yet to be seen.

If you're planning on getting a GCW Zero specifically for Playstation games, I'd wait and see first. A PSP may even suffice. Personally I'm more excited for the GCW Zero's SNES capabilities, many handheld homebrew enabled devices before like the PSP and Caanoo have struggled with SNES.
