I NEED TEMPER or another working PcEngine emulator
« on: July 10, 2013, 01:38:08 pm »
Can anyone hook me up with a Pre-release or wip build of Temper or Hugo so I can get a bit of TG16 action going, I think it was the only reason that I early adopted it in the first place.
Please please please

Temper is good but lack a vital option : V-sync
no v-sync : not the real thing.
hugo does not work on gcw (on the internal memory at least, haven't tried on micro sd)

I thought that the OpenDingux firmware handled V-sync as long as the application is compiled in the right way?
Such as using hardware surface, to get the best possible performance out of the system (given the current driver situation), and then the automatic V-sync will maintain a steady 60fps, or 30/60fps as applicable.

I assume it wasn't compiled with hardware surfaces and double buffering.

Hugo used to work on the gcw, I don't know what the current status is. Code is here https://bitbucket.org/clach04/dingoo_hugo/commits/all if you want to try it with the latest tool chain/kernel.

I should have included a link to the download section; https://bitbucket.org/clach04/dingoo_hugo/downloads NOTE the gcw download may not work on the current kernel/OS as it was built 7 months ago.

Sounds like Mednafen PCE (which is the most accurate PC Engine/Turbografx 16 emu I know of) works full speed in the test build of RetroArch the_gama did. That's early stuff with no release yet though.

HUGO does work on the gcw zero. I have no problems to run the roms even with the latest firmware. don't forget to chmod+x and put the roms in the apps/hugo/tg16pc/roms folder.

Was he open to OPK'ing the new build of Temper?

If not, is there another way to download it and get it on my Zero?

Thanks Qbertaddict!

Temper was originally made for the GPH handhelds and was regarded as one of the best handheld PCEngine emulator's. Is this V-sync present in the original GPH versions?

So how would I go about getting Temper 0.8 to run on the GCW Zer0?
