I am so glad I managed to play with FF7 this morning but I tried to play this evening again and the emulator wouldn't find the BIOS. I checked and the BIOS had disappeard! Is that possible. I can't find the website where I downloaded the scph7501.bin, can I use another BIOS instead?

Or maybe someone can send me the schp7501.bin by MP?

That's strange actually. I'm guessing you don't have scph7502.bin or scph7503.bin? Both of those work the same, but I don't think the other bios are compatible with FF7. You can try  :D (Just to add, I'm a few hours in to the game and it still plays fine)

Tried scph7501.bin, but the "can't find BIOS" message pops up. Are you using scph7501?

Yes, I've been using that the whole time. Did you try moving the bios to .psx4all?

I've been getting some really crappy sound on the FF Origins Chrono Trigger.  I have been loading up the 1001 BIOS, would using a different one help?

I've got a number of titles running very nicely on this emu but have had no luck loading save states that are playable. Most of them load to their proper place in the game but are frozen and completely non-interactive. It's kind of a deal breaker for me, coupled with all the other cumbersome design flaws in this "rough draft" emulator. With some polish and refinement, it could be great. As it is, it's at least a testament to how well the Zero can handle PS1 games. It's simultaneously impressive and frustrating.

Hey everyone. Every time I try to load a game, say FF7 d1 (with bios image scph1001.bin selected in the menu) and I load the game WITH bios... it keeps telling me that "BIOS NOT FOUND". The game continues to run but crashes at the beginning of the first enemy encounter.

I have the bios located exactly where you mention it to be...

Can someone kindly provide a step-by-step of where the BIOS and games need to be??

Thanks.

Under FileZilla, the .opk of psx4all is located in the apps section, so that's correct.

For the games and BIOS, I have it located as /media/data/local/home/psx4all

UPDATE: I got it! It seems I had to use DinguxCMD app and transfer the files from one location to another. Oh, by the way, Xenogears D1 does NOT seem to boot.

PSX emulation is perfectly doable. It will totally depend on if someone capable will have the time and motivation to work on it.

Correct. I have the psx4all.opk and can tell from this beta port that it runs pretty smooth how it currently is. Just a matter of time till its worked on, etc.

Is the flickering on the emulator's menu screen and the flickering on the FPS bar at the top of the emulator normal? I know it's very... incomplete all-around, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong here.

My mistake everyone... Xenogears and Einhander boot fine... I had a bad bios file. I re-transferred to my Zero and all games work more or less fine now. They all boot.

I am using scph1001.bin BIOS in case anyone was wondering.

My favourite game is WipEout XL. Has anyone been able to run this successfully?

The rip I have is in the format of 12x separate .bin files (named tracks 1 - 12) and 1x .cue file. When I try and load track 1 in the app I get the Sony splash screen but it goes no further.

Can anyone help?

Cheers,

TT.

*Update: Part of the problem seemed to be with the 1001 BIOS file. Changing that to 7502, and downloading the game in an .img file format have together got it working - although I have no in-game music, sadly. =(

Has anyone tweaked the graphics settings to get the most out of the game? Also, any way to get the in-game music? I'd be interested to hear.

When I run with the bios the roms load to the PS symbol and then locks up, without the bios they run  poorly or not at all.  Has anyone else had these issues?

yes, I have. I am able to boot a few games, such as ALUNDRA, FF7, XENOGEARS and CASTLEVANIA: SOTN. It really depends on the BIOS used. It is a very glitchy emulator, psx4all. I would recommend loading either scph1001.bin or scph7001.bin for those few games I just mentioned.

Some games, like FF8, either the USA or European rom, won't boot at all no matter which BIOS I was using. We will have to wait till this emulator gets optimized in the future. In the meantime, don't get discouraged if you can't load a certain game. It's perfectly normal right now.
