And here's my attempt at an OPK port (it can save replays and stuff):
https://github.com/gameblabla/overheated/raw/master/overheated.opk
I was not able to test it on my GCW Zero though. (i can't find my usb cable :<)
But it works under QEMU

And the github : (with my modifications and source)
https://github.com/gameblabla/overheated

As for the game itself, it has a great soundtrack. (too bad it's way too short)
I'm also not a huge fan of caravan shooters because they are only 1 level long and they also are very difficult.
(this one is no exception)

However the game is well done (graphically, animation, gameplay etc...) and i'm sure people into shmups will appreciate it.

After watching a WMG video on youtube, I think that I should clarify this:
The OPK version that gameblabla posted has a big problem, it can't load the game configuration files.
Because of this the controls are misconfigured and the game has an strange control scheme(this is not the intended control scheme)
Also, For this same reason, the music and sfx volume are muted each time you launch the OPK.
You can rise the volume levels at the service menu( Music volume and sfx volume should be 50 and 25 respectively)
For Now, I recommend you to use the non-OPK version until there is a error-free OPK if you want to enjoy the game.
Sorry for the inconvenience, Hope this clears any misunderstanding.

EDIT:
The new OPK version already works properly

Why he did not report the issue ? I told you guys it might not work.
Anyway, i have fixed the issue with the cfg file.
You should download the new OPK (same link)

Judging by what he said on the video, he thought that there were no errors.
He assumed that those were the default controls and that the game had no music.

Anyway, i have fixed the issue with the cfg file.

I tried it on my Zero and it seems to work without errors :)
I will put your link to the OPK in the OP
